I came in for a hot meal after being on the road all day. I sat down, ordered myself a coffee and hot cider, which came promptly. It took me awhile to decide what I wanted, so I asked my server to come back in a bit. When I decided what to order, she was back to take my order. I placed my order, and she took my menu. She refilled my coffee once, and brought my cup of soup. Once my meal came, she placed it on the table and left, she didn't ask if I needed anything else or wanted anything else. I had ordered the fried fish plate, which is supposed to come with a lemon wedge and tartar sauce, neither of which were on my plate. I waited a few minutes, and she never came back to see if I needed anything. I ate my green beans, and still hadn't seen her, I finally had to flag down another waitress to ask for some tartar sauce, which she brought. By the time that I had finished my meal, I had not seen my waitress at my table at all. When I placed my order, I had also requested dessert to come after my meal, which I was ready for. I waited about 10 minutes and there was no sign of my waitress. Finally, she came out, placed my ticket on my table and said "they're getting your dessert" and took off again, without asking if I needed/wanted anything. Mind you, it's not busy, they're actually about to close so, there's no one else in the restaurant. I waited for 15-20 minutes, and my dessert never came. My waitress comes to my table about 20 minutes after closing time, and says "whenever you're ready, I'll get you at the front" to which I responded "I never got my cheesecake" she ran back to ask where it was, saying she had put it in "awhile ago" she brings it out a few minutes later saying "I don't know why I thought you had it" and I'm thinking 'you would know if you had actually served me like you're supposed to " I just asked for a box for it, I was tired and the service had really irritated me. I've been a server, I know what it takes to close down and clean up at the end of the day. I also know that you NEVER leave your customers unattended, you ensure cups are filled, needs are met, wants are requested, and whatever it takes to ensure they are happy and comfortable. This was the worst service I have...
Read moreUpdate to the below review: Finally got my order. Ordered a medium well sirloin steak with no onions, no mushrooms, side of mash potatoes and mac & cheese and a garden salad. The salad was only thing correct. Macaroni was dry as a popcorn fart. The steak moo'd at me when I put the knife to it. More blood from my meat than Lorena Bobbits husband. Came with onions and mushrooms. Tasted like a soggy shoe dipped in cooking oil. I won't be back. The only plus side to this place is the friendly conversation I had with a cute waitress, but she was just a kid herself, like all the other employees. Sadly I used to complain about the truck stop restaurants like Iron skillet, but this makes them look like the Ritz! I'm prepared for a night full of 💩. Bad as it tasted, I know it's around the corner! Employees running around like they're crazy. Employees playing with each other, playing games behind the counter, laughing and giggling instead of taking and making orders. Bunch of kids. No one knows who's table is who's, who's order is who's, which ones are carry out or dine in. Many of us drivers sitting right at the bar and no one brings a menu or takes our order, as if we're invisible. Only 2 girls seem to be doing anything and they're the youngest ones here. I got to give a thumbs up to them, they've done a good job taking care of everyone but every other member here is confused and has no idea what the heck is going on. Probably won't be back here. As a driver, I've eaten at many bad restaurants, but this is right up there...
Read moreI’m a long-haul truck driver, traveling across the United States every day. This restaurant used to be one of my favorite stops. But after what happened today, it will be the last place I ever visit—because of the blatant racism I encountered.
From the moment I walked in, I was not welcomed by the man with the “third eye.” He was rude, disrespectful, and treated me with clear, ugly racism. While he greeted every other customer with friendliness and a smile, he was arrogant and cold toward me.
As someone who meets new people daily, let me tell you something about rude, racist individuals: I’ve never met a racist who was a doctor, philosopher, wise person, or even someone with decent general knowledge. On the contrary—99.99% of the racists I’ve come across tend to be in poor health, filled with hatred toward themselves and society, suffering from psychological issues, and lacking education. I truly feel sorry for them.
Note: According to the man with the third eye tattoo on his forehead, this restaurant is not for people of color—it’s for white people only.
Yes, he truly has a tattoo of a third eye on...
