I went to Boston Market on Sunday, December 15, 2024, around 7:15 p.m. for a dine in meal. I ordered the half chicken meal with mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, and corn bread. This was the worst meal I ever had in my life. The chicken was extremely salty and had been keep warm for too long. I had to pull the skin off and discard it. The meat underneath was stringy. Perhaps it had been left from the prior day or very early on Sunday. The sweet potato casserole tasted as though the sweet potatoes were mashed, and the cook ran out of sugar, vanilla, etc. The casserole also had big black pieces of the sweet potato that should have been removed and discarded. I bit into one of those black chunks that was the size of a raisin. It had a bitter taste. I counted eight raisin sized pieces and four smaller pieces. The meal was not even luke warm, and I took it from the counter to the table. I told the two gentlemen on duty that the sweet potato casserole was nasty. The gentleman who seemed to be the leader said that Boston Market was using a different kind of sugar. Also, I was not given cornbread with my meal. The other gentleman seemed like a trainee. Also, there was a woman sitting at a table when I entered the restaurant with no food or drink in front of her, just her cell phone. She was also there when I left. Boston Market's food has really taken a turn for the worse. It was so good before. I would get five takeout meals once or twice a week from Boston Market on Chestnut in Union, NJ. Two customers came in for take out meals during the entire time I was in Boston Market. There is plenty of parking due to no customers coming and going as in the past.

Horrible food, I purchase a chicken pot pie and Mac and cheese for my husband, the place was empty, outside restaurant looks over grown… unkempt, no chickens roasting or any where I could see…as I used to see, the food displayed did not look fresh, so I asked and was told the pie was fresh, I used to buy them in the past, used to be loaded with nice chunks of chicken, white meat included and lots of carrots, peas, and other veggies, now yesterday the crust looked weird, but worker stated again…it was fresh, when I got home, my husband went to eat it and as he started to eat, the chicken was hard, as you can see … all dark meat, no veggies, a couple of green beans, a few pieces of corn…and dry chicken, looks like they clean out a chicken and used all the scraps for the pie, the Mac and cheese was also all dried up and terrible taste, never will we be going back.

When we arrived at the location, we were informed that they only had 1/4 and 1/2 white meat chicken. I asked if they had thighs and legs, and the male employee replied no. Just as we were receiving our order, a Caucasian male entered the restaurant. The cashier was very rude while handing us our food. The man behind us placed his order and asked if he could get dark meat. As we were walking out, the cashier/server told the Caucasian male that they didn’t have any dark meat but to wait a moment while he checked. I hadn’t completely exited the door yet, so I confronted them. I said, ā€œBut you just told us you didn’t have any dark meat!ā€ The employee replied, ā€œYeah, I’m being honest, I’m being honest.ā€ I thought to myself, ā€œThat’s interesting.ā€ Never again will I spend my money here after this experience!

I am usually a fan of this location and never experienced bad food from here before, tonight was way different I ordered sides of cream Spinach and mashed potatoes one large and one small of each paid 17dollars and my containers were not even filled normally they are filled to the top it was the end of day and I was given the scraps !! Not only was the containers half filled but it was cold also for some reason the creamed spinach was extremely bland horrible taste not like usual also the mashed potatoes were bland.. not sure what happened tonight with the taste but I hope it gets resolved soon..

I made the worst mistake and went to this location today to get some sides to bring home for my family.. first off the guy making the food in back was very nice but the women in the front who was serving and ringing up looked like she hated life she was completely miserable and shouldn’t be working in customer service !!! Besides that the sweet potatoes not only are they now made different they were sour and absolutely not edible, mashed potatoes taste like instant bland flavorless potatoes, Mac and cheese 🤮, creamed spinach was edible but not like it used to be … I’m disgusted that I spent money on this to throw it all away. Shame on you guys .. this is ridiculous that you are serving food...

**So I gave it another chance because I love Boston market! Especially the sweet potato!! I was craving it and I ordered 2 large containers..there was no sugar oat crumble , only marshmallows and when I say sour!! It was completely not edible. My husband tried it , I wanted to see if it was just me and he said it was very sour. Please fix these issues because I would be there once a week! I love Boston market and this is so disappointing. The woman serving me was lovely though. I think she was new, very sweet 😊

I feel bad leaving a not great review but this is my 3rd time coming back to this location recently and everytime I walk in I feel like I'm bothering them lol it always seems like their about to close and not many sides to choose from and when I check online to see what time they close its 2 hours later!! Lol this location used to be on point everytime but lately it's been bad. The corn is terrible! Like it's been reheated 20x in the microwave . The mash has been so watery with a weird after taste and their always out of beef gravy! It's so annoying lol the girl that serves is really nice though but the other workers are ehhh, not so friendly. Please fix these issues along with everyone else's complaints, I would hate to see another Boston...
