Novik Edward MD — Local services in Union

I typically don’t write reviews like this, but I feel a strong responsibility to share my experience. Unfortunately, my treatment with Dr. Edward Novik and his physician assistant has left me deeply disappointed and in worse condition than before. Exactly two months ago, on July 29th, Dr. Novik performed an epidural injection procedure on my lower back under anesthesia. The moment I woke up, I felt a strong pain localized to the injection site, which the nurse dismissed as normal. In the days following the procedure, I experienced excruciating pain in my lower spine—far more intense than anything I had experienced prior. I brought this immediately to the attention of the physician assistant during my follow-up, only to be told that my pain "made no sense" and "could not possibly be related to the procedure." This dismissive response is unacceptable, especially considering the severe consequences: -I can no longer attend the cycling classes I enjoyed before the procedure. -I now have more frequent tingling, numbness, and stronger cramps in my legs. -I have had to start taking muscle relaxers and anti-inflammatories again, and I even had to return to physical therapy just to alleviate the pain. I am still not back to my pre-procedure level. What is most troubling is the complete lack of accountability or meaningful explanation from the office. Despite my persistent concerns, I’ve received no clarity, no compassion, and no attempt to investigate why my condition worsened so drastically. Patients place their trust in providers to act with care and transparency. In my case, I feel that trust was broken. I have been treating with Dr. Novik for about 10 years for pain management of spinal injuries. He provides cortisone epidural treatments and medication management services for me over the years. Dr. Novik has a wonderful reputation with his colleagues and his patients. I've been seeing Dr. Novik for many years and there is not one complaint I can find. From the office to surgery and back he's always professional, kind and gives his best on your situation and the best way to treat. His office staff and P.A. are all great. Customer service is top notch. Dr. Novik hasn't steered me wrong in 15 yrs. Even had my mom seeing him. A Gem at what he does. Thank you Dr....
