Our initial interaction with the Glam team was extremely cordial. They accepted my sister, mother, and other bridesmaid to the salon, and went over hair and makeup for the bride (my sister). The trail for both hair and makeup for the bride totaled $65.00, an additional $50.00 fee was incurred to hold the date of the wedding. In total $200.00 was provided to the Glam Team, $115.00 was for the services of the trail and to hold the date, $85.00 was to be put towards the balance the day of the wedding. We agreed on the arrival time, as the bridal party had to be out of the house by a certain time, as we were going to visit our father at the cemetery where he is laid to rest. On the wedding day, the Glam Team arrived over an hour late. Upon calling twice and receiving two different times of when they were going to arrive, the bridal party was pressed for time. The Glam Team was supposed to arrive at the house at 11:30 and they did not arrive until close to 1PM. Because the Glam Team arrived so late, the bride was unable to go to the cemetery to see her father prior to the wedding ceremony. Upon completing the services the hairstylist Dina, charged us 1100.00 for all the services performed that day. Again, being so pressed for time, I the maid of honor did not have sufficient time to digest the amount they charged us, and provided 1100.00 in cash to Dina. Two days later, while my sister was out of the country on her honeymoon, and I was asked to reach out to the Glam Team to see the discrepancies in the total amount charged for services on the day of the wedding. The total amount we were supposed to be charged was $970.00, (190.00x 4 for hair and makeup, 95.00 for just makeup and 200.00 for hair and makeup for the bride and subtract the 85.00 for deposit) instead we were overcharged $130.00. I called and left three voicemails, several text messages and had to resort to leaving a message on Instagram. It took three weeks to get in contact with the Glam Team about the issue and I received an earful about, 1. What a horrible person I am and how much they didnât want to provide services to us, 2. They did not receive any tip/gratuity, 3. They were not going to refund us our money. Upon calling Dina, at the end of the conversation, I asked politely about a bottle of hairspray that was missing, after asking that question, she went off on me, and then proceeded to tell me never to contact the Glam Team again and she hung up on me. A few minutes later, her partner called and again, went off on me, about how I have a bad soul; she tried to give me advice on how to improve as a person all the while not answering the question on how I will get a refund of $130.00. She also brought my children into this and told me, she would only refund us 30.00 and maybe I can buy something for my kids with the money. UNPROFESSIONAL! I will admit, not from the start as we would NOT have agreed to go into contract, but the day of the wedding, the happiest day for our family in a long while, has a small tarnish of unhappiness because of this âteamâ. Completely unprofessional and I wish I could support a small owned Latina business, being a Latina myself. Dina and Pasha (sp?) I wish you the best of luck, however, I WILL NOT recommend this business to anyoneâŚ. To Add insult to injury my sister, the bride was contacted by Dina and the Glam Team yesterday and told, they will return only part of the money if I took down my negative reviews on Google and Yelp. It is truly sad to see this type of behavior continue to be displayed by a new business. I do not know Dina or her partner personally, as I am speaking from a new patron's point of view. My review is strictly based off of an experience we encountered the day of my sister's wedding. Additionally, my family and I continued to be bashed by Dina herself to my sister, saying that we are rude and are not good people because of these reviews. WE are the paying customers, not the...
Read moreThis is by far the worst salon experience Iâve ever had. If I could give this place a zero I would. I came in for a trim and balayage. The wait wasnât too bad as I rarely ever expect scheduled appointments to be on time. As the hairstylist calls me over to start the coloring process, she hands me a box of aluminum foil and says âyouâre going to help me out. Put one aluminum foil on this clip board and fold a piece over at the top.â â-no she didnât ask me if I minded at all. She pretty much told me that I had to do it. in all the years of getting my hair done in salons, I have never had to assist in any of the services I request and pay for!!! Did I mention that halfway through the process she says âcan u fold more of the aluminum on the top so it doesnât slip?â As if she is now my boss and Iâm doing my job incorrectly. I give them the benefit of the doubt as it seems they are short staffed. One hairstylist and one makeup artist on a Friday night. I figured âwell if this will help give me the hair that I want then I guess i will assist.
When all the foils were in she moves me to the seat with the hair dryer. She assists 4 other clients before removing all the foils from my hair and washing it. At this point, Iâve already been in the salon for 3-4 hours. The trim hasnât been done nor was it acknowledged. At this time I figured Iâll just pass on the cut as it was already past the closing time and the last thing I need is a rushed trim. She asked if I wanted a blow out and because I was also pressed for time I said no. I was ready to leave. She then suggests that she blow dries just the front so I can see the color and I agreed. As she is drying the front piece, I start to see thin strings flying everywhere. At first I thought it was pieces from the hairbrush that had gotten stuck from previous use. Until I looked in the mirror, ran my fingers through my hair and found pieces of my hair was falling out. She had completely burned my hair with the product that I assumed she left in for too long. When I bring this to her attention, she insists my hair isnât falling out as if Iâm unable to see it with my own two eyes and feel it with my own hands. She felt the need to remind me that she does hair for a living and that this is normal. She insisted it was MY hair or that it was just the ends that were brittle and dead. In all the years that I have colored and treated my hair, I have never had such a horrendous experience. I can only hope that this will never happen to anyone else. And I can assure u I will never come back here nor will I ever recommend this place!!
Hereâs what I have to say regarding your reply:
Naturally, it's in your best interest to defend your business. You're right, you WERE NOT there. So when I say, Lulu, was inattentive. That was my experience. When I say she invalidated me, and was patronizing as my hair continued to fall out with each touch and blow dry, that was my experience. And when I go out of my way, to write of how disappointed I was in the care I received, with NO BENEFIT TO MYSELF BECAUSE I REFUSE TO RETURN THERE FOR EVEN A COMPLIMENTARY SERVICE that speaks volumes as to my intention. You're right, every business drops the ball on occasion, and the way it was handled by your staffâs condescending attitude and indifference was what inspired me to write this. Your lack of effort to take any responsibility doesnât help this...
Read more(Dina, you need to stop harassing my friends and asking them to tell me to not write reviews this is wrong and unprofessional. I have every right to disclose my dissatisfaction. I hope you take these reviews and make adjustments to improve your customer service and salon services.) I contact Dina and was pleased at first, she did have a dry unapproachable attitude but that to me she meant business. I set everything up with her and paid the deposit. As a first-time bride, I asked a bunch of questions and one of them was about money and wanted to see if the price could be negotiated. She was turned off by the fact of me asking and quickly and firmly said no. I was ok with that and moved along and still contracted her for my big day. When I arrived at my hair trial with Dina, she looked unhappy, upset and didn't really make conversation with me and at the end of it all didn't even try to do a hair trial as it should be, like it was the day of. It was horrible and when asking me questions she assumed that I knew what She was talking about, which I told her I had never had my hair done before, as a curly hair woman, I usually keep it curly at all times. I left feeling a little odd but we talked and said what we would adjust. after a few of my family members and friend saw her finished worked they didn't like it and so I contacted her to do some adjustments. She seemed upset and wanted to push me off to another person which to me meant she didn't want to deal with what she called a "particular" bride. The same thing happened when I came in for my makeup trial. Anything I said afterward to suggest to fix or adjust ended up with them calling me and canceling 54 days before my wedding when I set everything up with them in February. I am extremely upset about this, as now I have to find someone else. They gave me my money back but the service was horrible and if you are a bride who expects a lot and expresses their feelings and wants adjustments, these are not the people to work with. Like they said, they have a particular way of working and that is their way or the high way. I was nice to them and only asked questions to clarify and make sure I knew what was expected. I truly recommend going somewhere else. They charge for everything and they donât like feedback. If you have curly hair go somewhere else. They also communicate via text all the time. Dina is super defensive and doesnât...
