Good Afternoon Google family. I googled this diner and I decided last night on Veterans's Day to come here. I am tired of Aston and Folcroft Diner and I wanted to go someplace different. I liked the travel here. I enjoyed the trip here. I liked the Google destination here right on Route 1, Baltimore Pike. Its a straight run. Mom and I parked on the Blue Handicapped Sign. Then we went in. Two wonderful men held the door for mom. Then we were seated at a booth in the back, because all of the booths in the front were taken. Mom always gets her trusty broiled tilapia, with dry mashed potatoes and apple sauce. I decided on the broiled seafood trio with flounder, salmon, shrimp and scallops. So delicious!! We both needed boxes to take home. I ate the cream of broccoli soup, so good!! I love soup!! Mom did not want the soup or salad. We decided on rice pudding and tapioca pudding to take out. And we received a 10 percent senior discount. I love that and I love that about being older and taking advantage of senior discounts. Our bill total was $61.56 with the senior discount, it was $55.31. I truly enjoyed the food and Anne was our server. Anne was great!!! Alexis was the lady who took our money at the cashier and she was nice!!! Mom and I visited the restroom and it was in perfect order. So clean!! We will definitely visit this spot again. I loved it!!! Good night Google Family.
Hello again Google Family. Mom and I visited the Sage Diner today on Thursday, November 14, 2024. Mom ordered her usual, her broiled tilapia, and mashed potatoes. The only thing this time they did not have apple sauce. Mary informed us of not having apple sauce so my mom ordered corn instead. My mom said her mashed potatoes tasted cold. We told our server, Mary, however my mom decided that she did not want to send them back to the kitchen to be reheated. I ordered a Chef salad without black olives, onions or green peppers. I really enjoyed my meal. My mom enjoyed her tilapia. We met some really nice people while dining. A lady named Linda and her husband. We talked and I hope that we see them again here at the Sage Diner. Also a huge shout out to Mary who informed us about the larger rest room which is unisex. So comfortable and convenient. Since my mom uses a walker, it was larger so that she could take her walker into the single receptacle. I really appreciate Mary telling us about this feature of the Sage Diner. My mom and I asked for boxes to take out our remaining food which we had not eaten. We ordered bread pudding and rice pudding for our dessert to take out. I inquired about cakes and whether they are open on Thanksgiving. The cakes are beautiful and decorated so nicely. They are open on Thanksgiving from 6 am to 10 pm. My mother's birthday is the day before Thanksgiving and she will be 95 years young. My mom and I really enjoyed our dining experience and we will definitely be returning soon. Good night Google Family and enjoy the Eagles-Commanders game tonight. I am hoping for a huge...
Read moreWent in with my mom for a late lunch/early dinner. She ordered the open faced hot turkey. This meal comes with soup or salad, 2 sides , pudding and cranberry sauce. My mom asked for the crab bisque to go as her soup. The girl wrote it all down. I ordered a cheesesteak with fries. She asked if I wanted soup and I also asked for the crab bisque to go, she told me it was an up charge for mine and I said it was fine. I then ordered food to go, short stack French toast, scrambled with cheese and sausage. When the food came my moms was missing the cranberry sauce, no biggie right! My cheesesteak was sitting in a pile of grease so now the fries were also. We waited for the girl to come back and check on us to ask for the cranberry sauce…….. never came back. I took 2 bites of my steak and gave up, it was gross. Finally after 20 minutes she came back and asked if I wanted to wrap my sandwich and I told her no thank you and explained why. She said let me see if the manager will take it off the bill. I told her that would be wonderful if she did but if not it’s fine. She came back with the bill and said it was removed and my mom asked to a Togo container for her food. She then asked if she could have the cranberry sauce that never came out. I looked over the bill and noticed I was charged for 2 cups of crab bisque, not up charge for 1. I went to the register and questioned it and was told by the manager that they do not offer that with meals, I’m sorry what???? I explained what was told to us about mine being up charged but not that it was not included. So now we didn’t get the food that came with our meal and we paid extra for it, okay no biggie I’ll pay for it. Not worth the argument. Fast forward to our to go food that is brought out, I check it before leaving and sure enough the sausage is missing. So we wait and ask for the food we paid for. My mom asks if her meal came with pudding and the girl says yeah did you want that??? The manager came over and told us that the girl is not new and has been there for a while. I’m blown away and the poor service. We used to go in there often and will...
Read moreWe went at lunchtime, we ordered appetizers, I had the broiled stuffed seafood trio. G had a prime rib sandwich, the girls had a HUGE cheeseburger and grilled chicken such and such. I was a little preoccupied with paperwork. BUT, the prime rib sandwich DEFINITELY made me sit up and take notice. It was fabulous! My, VERY pricey dish?? WOW, what a huge disappointment. If it hadn't had been for our delightful server?? I would have DEFINITELY, made a fuss. The THREE totally overcooked shrimp, one small piece of absolutely NO FLAVOR flounder and the three scallops, were around $25.00. Yes, I know, that momentary lapse of reason taught me a HUGE lesson, NEVER go out to eat when you're starving and have some extra money!!! You will waste it in the long run. Our bill came to $102.00.And as you can see, the only thing that was worth anything was the prime rib sandwich and the service. I will definitely go again to see what else is secretly waiting to be discovered as the next , "gotta have it!" On my professional eaters, March Madness Munchie Menu I LOVE to eat and I love to cook, and being raised to care for a huge, always hungry family, you learn what's good and filling! I love foods that are rich, flavorful yes, sometimes extra fattening as well!! So, when I tell you it's banging or AMAZING!! It really is!! Keep an eye out for updates on this place!! I think there's some serious grubbing on...
