I ordered pizza multiple times and thought it was pretty good gluten free pizza. The staff seemed to take proper precautions to make sure there was no cross contamination. The restaurant was also so close I could walk there if needed. Unfortunately, my experience was so bad, I don’t intend to get food from this place or any other Cocco’s again.
I ordered a gf pizza over the phone with a salad. I told them I did not want croutons or cheese on my salad. The girl on the phone was nice and said my order would take an hour. OK. I waited over an hour and the delivery driver showed up at my door without a mask so I stood behind the door and grabbed my pizza. I paid with my card ahead of time and told them to add $5 ahead of time so I didn’t have to sign anything. That was a big mistake. When I opened my pizza it was stone cold and all broken on one side like it was dropped. Still, no big deal. I put the pizza in the oven and ate it. The salad was large so it took 3 days to finish.
On the third day, I found a crouton in my salad. That was the last straw for me because I could have gotten really sick if I didn’t see it. I called the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager. I spoke to a guy named Brandon or Brendon who said he was the manager. I told him about all that happened to me from the delivery to the crouton in my salad and that I have Celiac disease. He responded by saying, “People order from us and they don’t have any money.” I still don’t understand what that had to do with me. I was calm. He then went on to ask me, “What do you want?” and he went on to explain it was busy on Friday and I shouldn’t order on weekends. I calmly reminded him that I could have gotten ill and he didn’t really seem to care. He said sorry with a very indifferent tone. I said goodbye and that was the end of it. I really don’t care if he thought I didn’t have any money or I called to get my money back, although I probably should have. It seemed clear to me that they didn’t want my business and that is most likely the reason I was treated that way. Either way, there are plenty of other pizza shops in the area where I can go and get gluten free pizza and salad delivered without risking my health and rude, unprofessional employees. If you are concerned about Covid-19 and/or have food allergies, do not get your food here. Your life may literally...
Read moreThis is a review that I never thought I would ever have to write. Cocco's in Primos was a family favorite of ours for about 30 something years. It was our default meal most weekends when my children were young. We even introduced the next generation in my grandchildren. It is where I met up with many of friends throughout the years to hangout, eat some decent food and catchup. I have to say I was skeptical when I heard the original owner was selling it to new owners. But even with that I still was willing to give them a try and continue our tradition as a family to meet up from time to time and enjoy a meal. Well, lets just say my initial concerns came to be reality for me. We went not to long after it was sold. It was ok but I could taste the shift in the quality of the food and the atmosphere was different, but not enough for me to not go back. We went back this past Sunday and I can say very definitively that I will not be returning. I ordered a cheesesteak and it was giving me Steak-Um type vibes and the French Fries were not what I like. Now all that is subjective and my opinion. Now what put the nail in the coffin for me was watching a mouse or rat (don't know what it was) running back and forth between the glass that is on the front of their counter. I was the only one to see it and as I was telling my family about it, it ran back and forth again and my other family members witnessed it. I am very well aware that food establishments have rodents and bugs that they contend with on a regular basis. But for the most part their patrons do not encounter them because of their due diligence in pest control. Unfortunately, we had already eaten most of our food so needless to say some felt like vomiting. We brought it to managers attention and he did mention they just had the exterminator out that Friday. Seeing the rodent combined with the quality and taste of the food going downhill, I will not be spending my hard earned money there any more. I'm not telling anyone else what to do, take this review...
Read moreThe food isn’t of great quality or taste. That’s excusable to some degree. The issue is as we ate we saw a rat. One of the workers casually says “Yea we had an exterminator out Friday. I will get them back out”. We asked if the meal was comped being that we just ate food that is being stored and prepared around rats and God knows what else. They said they needed to check with their boss and that’s fair. They come back and say “you need to pay half” and here’s the bosses number. We didn’t think that’s was right at all. We don’t know if we will be sick from this (I see someone else got sick after eating here). So they begrudgingly told us they will comp the whole meal.
As family from this area (3 generations) we’ve patronized Cocco’s for a very long time. There was a culture around this particular location that has been lost since the change in ownership. Cocco’s was synonymous with cleanliness, great service and quality food. This experience marked the end of an era for us.
I will be making an official report to the proper health officials to make sure this matter is dealt with so that those who choose to eat here will be safe and healthy. I hope they rectify the rat issue and are successful but I will likely never...
