DeMarco's — Restaurant in Upper Darby

I was here, twice in one week. The first time I went, with my girlfriend, the bartender was nice. She served a great mixed drink, and the beer selection was ok. I was impressed by the food menu, and wanted us to come back to eat on Saturday night. There was a different bartender on Saturday night, when we came back. That mattered, because both my girlfriend and I were NOT happy with the bartender on Saturday night. When we asked for a food and drink menu, she only gave a food menu to my girlfriend. And NO mixed drink and beer menu to either of us! I thought maybe she forgot, because the place was busy. But she kept getting food and drink orders to other customers, faster than she got them to us. When I paid the tab, I asked for just $5 back. I still tipped her 15% of our bill, in spite of her bad service. She wasn't being stiffed. She acted like she didn't hear me, going to all other customers, besides us. She only gave me the $5 back after my girlfriend shouted above the noise that I was still waiting for my change. Both I and my girlfriend sensed her just not liking us. Been at this establishment multiple times never had any problems like the reviews I have seen below. The owner is very friendly and i have actually seen him and he goes around and interacts with each of his customer's at least once during their visit.... I cant remember when a manager or owner actually did that in their restsurant... The food is always hot, good, and delicious (not ragu either but there's a very famous restaurant close by that actually uses ragu and alta cucina tomatoes, but I won't throw them under the bus.) Our waitress tonight was wonderful, friendly, and very attentive to us. As many of us know these owners suffered a major setback and loss with a fire with devastating results and still re opened their establishment its called perservance and detrmination and willpower . Half the people in delaware county lack the above qualities. After not being at this establishment in almost 2 years (due to fire ) the owner actually remembered us from the last night they were opened... i was amazed he remembered us. Best Friend & I Went On Football Sunday, to speak for the atmosphere for football it was super chill literally only about 15-25 people which for me is a plus. I like laidback vibes. Food was good BBQ Wings(10) & Fries $14 Cheesesteak Rolls $5 everything was fresh hot & nicely seasoned. Drinks were good not watered down and not overly strong.Since was our first time we paid cash for our food and just wanted to see what the drinks would be like alone…… so we had a open t*b.
