First, let me start by saying not only am I a foodie, but I am 100% Italian. I grew up on homemade, So I judge heavily when I go to an Italian restaurant! That being said, I cannot rave about this place enough. My friend and her husband had tried the place weeks ago and absolutely fell in love. So they decided to bring me along to give it a try. Jimmy, the owner, was so incredibly inviting and gracious. I felt like he Was inviting us into his home for dinner!
The decor is beautiful. It absolutely could be transposed to Center City Philly. The dining room is really just the perfect size. It's large enough where you could easily have a bunch of friends or family come out while still being small enough where a smaller party would still feel cozy. Next the food. The absolute best meatballs I have ever had at a restaurant in my entire life. Seriously. The "gravy" Was absolutely Delicious – savory and full of flavor. The homemade pasta – gnocchi with Gorgonzola cream sauce – was out of this world. Gnocchi can feel very heavy, but not these. These were not itty-bitty bites either, but a nice big fat chunky gnocchi! Yet they still were very light – so much so that I was able to eat My entire portion (Which was huge!). The Gorgonzola cream sauce was to DIE for, The long hots were crazy, and the crispy cauliflower was awesome too. You definitely have to try the gelato - Insane! This place is one of those hidden gems. Incidentally, I've ordered DoorDash from them twice...
Read moreSo first time here ill share my thoughts on what we got. Fries-3.5/5 it was different for sure.it was a mix between a chip and potato wedge some were a bit floppy but the rest were alright. I personally prefer straight cut fries.
Arancini-4.5/5 this was pretty good and it was very generous size. My only complaint about the arancini is that the breading was a bit thick but i definitely recommend it.
Chicken marsala-4.7/5 the chicken marsala was very good i got mine with ziti but i think spaghetti or linguine would of been the better choice for the future but thats totally on me. Again the portions were good. The sauce was rich and had a good thickness, the mushrooms definitely shined through giving it a rich and earthy flavor. The chicken was juicy and not overcooked or rubbery. I think this is the best chicken marsala in the area.
Plain pizza-5/5 what can i say it was dang good plain pizza, probably one of the best i have had in a while. Im definitely excited to try some of the other pizzas in the future.
Service-5/5 was nice and super friendly.
Pricing-5/5 considering some of the portions and food quality i think the pricing is very reasonable.
I would definitely order again. If i had to rate overall i would give 4.6/5. But for the area i would say its 5/5. I think this place will be a welcome addition to the area. I look forward to trying out the rest of their menu especially the burgers...
Read moreThere's nothing worse than dropping $70 plus on a meal and leaving disappointed. My wife and I tried this place based upon the 4.4 review. The fact they make their on pasta in house is what drew us in.
We started with the antipasto, they had no spring mix, they substituted romaine, no big deal, it worked. Everything else was out of a can or jar.
I ordered the chicken parm. I received a below average size piece of chicken. (I recognize below average is subjective, but it doesn't compare in size to the other restaurants within 15 miles. ) The sauce was very flavorful, I give it that. The pasta served with it was essentially raw, not even close to a la dente. If service was attentive, I would have sent it back.
My wife got the fresh capellini with the vodka sauce. Her pasta was just slightly better than mine. (Not as chewy) The sauce was, in my opinion, borderline flavorless.
It was until we were done eating that our waitress came over to check on things. I pointed out my pasta was raw. I received an interesting look with a response of "Raw?".
When i got the check, all I received was "sorry about that ".
If you decide to patronize this place, a simple request to ask that your pasta is cooked properly will create a better...
