Sak's Sports Bar — Restaurant in Vadnais Heights

Bad experience. Went on bingo night. It was packed. Entered from the North door to find a small line. After waiting 15 min with no staff contact, we went to the bar to see about how to get a table. We were told to go to the West door to get on the list and get a buzzer. We tried to get a bingo board and were told we would have to wait for the girl working that section if we wanted to play. Never found her. We waited another 15 min before we noticed we were standing next to a table set for a group of 15-20 and only had 7 people at the table. So we asked the table if they would allow us to sit at the empty end of their table to dine. They were more than happy to let us. We asked a waitress, and she told us she would have to ask the Mgr. She returned and told us they don't normally do this, and she was just too busy to deal with telling us no and dealing with it. She then asked the customers if it was OK for us 2 people to sit with them. Keep in mind there was almost 2 empty tables from their group and they were done eating. Then she reminded us they don't usually do this as it puts the customers at the table in an awkward position and she would do it this one time because she didn't want to deal with it (us). She was so rude about the whole thing! So they would rather have the empty seats and people waiting in line to spend money. Why wouldn't they have thought to ask the table if the rest of their group was still coming? They could have freed up those tables if they bothered to ask them as they told us the rest of their group didn't show. We decided this wasn't a business that actually wanted our money. My friends and I have been going here for years. Has been our go to Happy Hour place after work. Until today which this totally caused us to decide from here on out to take our business to another bar that has respect for customers.

Today we arrived at 3p and sat out on patio, the waiter walked past a person at our table 3 times getting others drink orders and delivering drinks completely ignoring her until someone said something to him this whole time we were smoking off and on. Then at 5:55p the owner came out stated there is no smoking, we responded well we didn't know that we have been smoking out here since we got here. He replied well I just got here and there is NO smoking. So he goes to get an ash tray and there was 11 of us at our table talking about we didn't know that no one told us this whole time when a waitress who wasn't our server goes "well you know now cause he just told you" in a snapping voice. The owner comes out and we state wow that waitress was rude has no respect for customers she had no business talking to us like that. As we only stated why is there no signs and why did no one say anything the whole time. Then the owner proceeded to walk around patio giving us dirty looks. Until we paid our tabs. Guess us hardworking medical field workers aren't aloud to have good service. I recommend going to another place that will give you...

My boyfriend and I went to Saks Bar prior to tonight and the server and food was great! However, we had a very disappointing experience tonight. Our sever checked on us once throughout the whole hour and half we were there. Our glasses of water was empty for an hour. Each time he walks by our booth, he didn’t check on us and each time we tried to get his attention he walks away. Then when we did get his attention because he forgot an appetizer, he walked away as we were still talking to him asking him to box it for us (because at this point my boyfriend and I was ready to go) He came back with our wings boxed but not the appetizer. Then my boyfriend asked for the check and boxes for the rest of the food but before he could finish his sentence, our server walked away saying “check and box” He then came back with one box and our check. At this point, I politely told him how I feel. I said “I feel that you were neglecting us” and proceed to explain that our water has been empty for quite some time and that he only checked on us once from the multiple times he walked by our booth. This server dared to respond “ Well I disagree.” And then said “when I walk by I glance over to see what you guys need” I guess he didn’t see the empty glasses and just likes to walk away when you are talking to him asking him for something.
