It’s been a while now, but I went there once and I will never go back!
First, I brought my laptop in because the screen kept glitching. I suspected it might be due to a loose battery. They took it in and called me the next day, saying the issue was actually with the screen—that it was slightly bent. They told me it would cost almost $400 to fix, with 70% of that being for labor. I kind of understood the labor part, and I was willing to pay anything because this laptop was a gift from my dad, and I really wanted to keep it working.
I paid full price, but when I got it back, it felt so loose and fragile. I used it for not even a minute before the screen popped out and started glitching again. I couldn’t even open it without the screen popping off. The hinges were loose, and when I brought it back, the girl there gave me such a bad attitude—like it was my fault the screen popped out! She was visibly upset.
They took it in again and called me the next day, saying they needed to fix the back cover of the laptop, which would cost me even more money. At that point, I realized I could’ve just bought a brand-new, working laptop. I declined the repair and asked for my laptop back.
The worker kept trying to persuade me to let them keep it so they could “recycle it.” I insisted on getting it back, and we were on the phone for a while. He kept saying that since I wouldn’t use it, they had a good place to recycle it. But I was planning to use it—and to take it somewhere else for a second opinion.
Honestly, it felt like they just wanted the good parts I had already paid for to use in other laptops. So upsetting. Worst...
Read more1st I had a review on here when this happened and it looks like they deleted it. This is my experience. They came recommended. I would never use them again and wish I could give negative stars. I brought in my laptop as it seemed the battery wouldn't hold it charge and would not charge at all. I was told I would hear back in 2 days. A week later and I had not heard back. I called and they said it would be a week or more not 2 days. It even said it on my paperwork 2 days. Speaking of paperwork, when I dropped it off when I got home I realized I had the wrong paperwork. This is not good as they put the passwords on this paperwork. When I finally heard back they said it was the battery and it was close to exploding. I went in and they showed it to me. When they were putting it back together so I could take it, they lost some of my screws to hold it together. So now I have weird screws. Today i was looking at and they did not put it back together right. It should not be bulging like it is in the pictures. I am also going to open it up to make sure they put everything in there and didn't take anything. I also hear something rambling around. I was told by an it expert with years of experience that even without the battery I should be able to run on the laptop while plugged in. It does...
Read moreTechie Dudes have been amazing for me this past week. Long story short, my brand new computer stopped working and I had some important files on it. I was freaking out and they were able to explain to me what was going on and told me how to get the warranty process through dell going. The guys at Techie Dudes worked on my computer basically for a week straight, unfortunately they weren’t able to recover the files because of some encryption issues with the computer. But they didn’t charge me a single cent, were super professional, and upfront with me (they told me they probably wouldn’t be able to recover the files, so not to get my hopes up, but would try anyways), and I will definitely be returning with computer issues...
