Went to CWP for the first time, ever, the other day. Ordered the Philly Cheesesteak.
When it arrived, I removed the top bun to add some red pepper flake, to discover that there was almost no steak, onion, or green peppers (took up less than 1/3 the length of the bun), and zero evidence of cheese.
Got the waitress' attention (sorry, forgot her name, but she was apparently more than just waitstaff) and showed her this dismal sammich. She about had a conniption, when she saw it. She apologized, profusely, and said she'd make one, herself. I said I kind of changed my mind, and could I have the meatball sandwich, instead.
She went into the kitchen, and I could hear her ask the staff "WHO MADE THAT SANDWICH??" She was not happy.
She brought me the meatball sandwich (delicious!) and more fries. Then, when I got the check, she didn't charge me for either sandwich. I insisted that the check be corrected, I don't want anything for nothing. She corrected the bill and I paid, leaving a nice tip. She bent over backwards to make sure I was satisfied. That's a big thing, for me. Two thumbs up. I'm going back, in a little bit, for some pizza.
10/2023 update. I am no longer going to eat anything from here. The quality of the pizza has been slipping. A solid STL-style pizza is balanced: thin crust, thin sauce, thin cheese, and an appropriate amount of toppings. Over the last two months, I've had pizza with too much sauce (too sweet); pizza with too much cheese (not sweet/tangy enough); and pizza with too much sauce, cheese, and toppings (the pepperoni was wall-to-wall and burnt.)
Unless/until the pizza makers at this location are schooled on the proper way to make an STL-style pizza, I will...
Read moreToday was the first visit ever to this Cecil Whittakers location for me and my co-workers. The food and atmosphere were good but the element that won us over was the extremely fantastic service we got from out waitress Kelsey. Hands down the best waitress I've ever had she owned that front of the house. I think she was effectively taking care of at least a dozen tables at a time, plus walk ins, plus answering the phones. Kesley was everything a excellent waitress should be. She greeted our table with a vibrant and cheerful smile and a personality that you can tell was genuine. We never wanted for anything during our visit. She was wearing a Cardinal red t-shirt that simply said "Respect" written across the chest and she earned that from our group. She was nothing but professional, extremely attractive and very helpful. I challenge anyone whom might say there's another more valuable team member at Cecil Whittakers. We will most definitely be back at this...
