Deanatella’s — Restaurant in Valley View

📍 Deanatella’s Italian Deli – Valley View, OH 🧀🍕🥖 A true hidden gem that screams classic Italian deli the second you walk in. If you can name the deli meat, trust us—they’ve got it. Shelves packed, fridges loaded, and a full lineup of Coke products to wash it all down.

We stop here 2–3 times a month, and for good reason. The food never misses. Here's what we had today:

🍕 Pepperoni Pizza – 8.1/10 Hot, fresh, and loaded with flavor. A crustless, center-cut slice of cheesy joy. No edge, no problem—it hits hard where it counts.

🍕 Sausage Pizza – 8.4/10 Same amazing base, but the sausage takes it up a notch. Big, juicy chunks of sausage packed with flavor. Definitely the MVP slice today.

🌶️ Mild Pepper Sub – 9.2/10 This one’s my go-to. Not super spicy, but absolutely loaded with flavor. The combo of peppers, melty cheese, and rich sauce makes for one giant, unforgettable sandwich. Perfect from the first bite to the last.

The staff? Always friendly. The vibes? All Italian. If you’re anywhere near Cleveland, do yourself a favor and stop by Deanatella’s. You’ll thank yourself later.

I used to work ten minutes' drive from Deanatella's and originally found out about it because when one coworker went, other coworkers always sent orders along too. I put in an order too and thought it was great.

I can't talk highly enough about it. Guy, the owner, was almost always there, joking with the customers. His 80+ mother was in at times running the cash register (you can see her in one of the pictures someone uploaded), and I remember him joking how he had to keep on eye on her, because she kept stealing money out of the till. :) She just rolled her eyes and we all laughed.

Personally, I enjoy the egg salad sub and the meatball sub.

One last story: one day I walked out to my car, and tucked the sub under my arm as I opened my door. When I grabbed the bag again, I had the wrong end and my sub slipped out and splattered all over the ground. Guy raced out of the shop and told me they'd make me another free of charge.

Went here for the first time last week and ordered the Tunasalad sub. Probably the best I ever had. And instead of the typical salad larded with mayo, this one substitutes olive oil and Italian spices. The soft, freshly baked bread tasted good, but would have worked better with a crispy crust and soft inside for more texture. My only real complaint is that the subs are ridiculously large for one person (probably a foot long and very wide). And because no subs are good the next day, unless you have someone to split it with, you will probably throw half of it out. Owners, please consider selling 1/2 subs at a reduced price. Or maybe the same price as a whole and throw in chips and a drink. Otherwise, unless I have a friend who wants the exact same sandwich, not sure I will be back unless I haven't...
