My favorite local place to eat—I pass *quite* a few breakfast/lunch restaurants to come to Bluebonnet for a few reasons (in no particular order): -The delicious food is cooked from scratch and made to order -GENEROUS PORTIONS!!! -They remember people's names and really care about each person -THEY LOVE CHILDREN and have a special wall for their kiddie clients' artwork (coloring pages and crayons provided by Bluebonnet CafĂ©) -The relaxed atmosphere is great for dining and chatting—and working. If you want fast and sub-par *fast* food, go to a fast food chain. -Breakfast shots (available all day)!!! I noticed no one else was talking about their unique and tasty libations, so let me share a few. First, the Breakfast Shot: one shot of Jameson, chased with another shot that’s a blend of butterscotch schnapps and orange juice, and finish by crunching on the (drowned) crispy bacon. Yeah. It hits. Next, the French Toast Shot. Equal parts butterscotch, schnapps, fireball whiskey, and Bailey’s. Rimmed with sugar, cinnamon, and finish with a banana slice. Delicious! Finally, Mimosa! A FULL glass of champagne, with orange juice on the side. Shelly Combs (owner at Bluebonnet CafĂ©) makes sure you know you are not getting shorted on champagne. â€ïžđŸ„‚â€ïž No diluted mimosas here!!!!! Food: as I mentioned, it's all cooked from scratch and made to order. The omelet was massive! Oh, and ask for an 'upgrade' to the hashbrown casserole. Tasty! Club sandwich: look at the slabs of protein on this generous triple decker! They don't use nasty pre-packaged deli meat. If you're looking for made to order (and from scratch) delicious food in a relaxed atmosphere surrounded by friendly and caring people, this is your place! I'm there often, so feel free to say hello!!!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely Incredible Experience! We recently hosted my grandmother’s 100th birthday party at the Blue Bonnet Cafe in Valley View, and I can’t say enough about how amazing the entire experience was! With around 50 guests, you might expect some challenges, but the team at Blue Bonnet went above and beyond to make everything perfect and seamless. The food was absolutely delicious—every dish was homemade, fresh, and full of flavor. From start to finish, the service was outstanding. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure everyone was well taken care of. The hospitality was second to none, and they truly made us feel like family. My parents rant and rave about this restaurant regularly to me being local residents of Valley View, and now I understand why. It’s rare to find a place that not only serves great food but also puts so much heart into making an event special. The Blue Bonnet Cafe did just that, and we are beyond grateful. If you’re looking for a place with top-notch food, service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere, this is it! Thank you to everyone at The Blue Bonnet Cafe for making my grandmother’s milestone birthday unforgettable! We will definitely be back!

Very small town cafe with very big flavor! This cafe is so cute part of a town square that’s looks like it’s been there for years and years. Currently house sitting in Sanger Tx and decided to stop by since it’s close. Best decision ever. All the servers were extremely friendly. Great hospitality. My Bloody Mary was super tasty. I ordered the “papa’s biscuits and gravy” I opted to upgrade to the sausage gravy, got over medium eggs and hash browns. I also added a side of bacon. Talked to the barista/bartender the whole time and she was super sweet. My food came out and it was a very healthy Texas size portion. Lol. Biscuits were so soft and fluffy. Gravy top notch. Hash browns were THOROUGHLY seasoned. Most places just fry them up and season the tops but these were absolutely deliciously seasoned throughout. Thick cut bacon and perfectly cooked eggs. This was the best breakfast I’ve had in a very long time. Highlyyyyy recommend you stop by here!

Tl;dr: worth going to. Fantastic atmosphere, a relaxing environment, more relaxed/slightly slower than your average service so absolutely perfect for a morning out to talk. GET THE BREAKFAST SHOT. And the margarita, and the bluebonnet lemonade.

Longer version:

Yes, the service can sometimes be slower than when you’re at a basic chain restaurant. But that’s the beauty, it is a small business and personable restaurant. It’s an environment where you can enjoy a really well brewed cup of coffee while talking with friends, or writing on your laptop, or whatever thing you enjoy. There is no rush and you don’t feel like you’re another number at a table. You are taken care of.

Food: Breakfast and lunch all day they’re open. Delicious tacos, excellent omelets, fajitas, absolutely scrumptius chips and queso, and everything is made well. You feel like you’re at home with a chef in the kitchen.

Drinks: coffee doesn’t taste like your standard breakfast cafe’s bitter taste. It actually tastes like coffee, and isn’t weak. It’s not super strong either. Just a great middle ground. Lattes are great.

The true royalty of drinks at Bluebonnet Cafe are the alcoholic ones. Get a margarita, mimosa, espresso martini, or some absolutely godly breakfast shots. The breakfast shot is Jameson and butterscotch schnapps with a second shot of orange juice and candied bacon as a chaser. GET IT. This shot is phenomenal. And I hate Jameson.

Anyway, They’re newer and busy sometimes so occasionally they will be a little slower than what you might be used to. But if you want speedy service and subpar food go to a basic chain restaurant. If you want fantastic food and fantastic drinks and friendly service that is more relaxed, choose Bluebonnet. This is a woman owned small business that will not treat you as a stranger, and is more than worth your patronage. I adore the owner. Thank you, Shelly, for a great weekend spot!

(If anyone dares to complain about the service wait one more time, I will be handlin them haters. Go to ihop if you’re gonna be a buzzkill, you aren’t...

THIS AMAZING RESTAURANT IS A 20 out of 10 IN EVERY CATEGORY! OUR FIRST VISIT: First of all the atmosphere is quaint, charming, clean and inviting, and not far from WIN STAR! Secondly, the food is scrumptious and seasoned perfectly! As an example: my husband ordered the sausage gravy over their biscuits and he did not HAVE TO salt or pepper it but of course a pound of pepper was added because he is crazy that way! I ordered the avocado toast and PRICELESS CHANDLER (aka Bean) suggested I compliment it with a fried egg, which I did. OK, so again a 20 and not a 10 rating and was way tastier than at the Magnolia Cafe. Sorry Chip and Joanne...love you both! The service was extradinary--big smiles the minute we arrived till we left starting with Chandler (genuine and professional and warm) and ending with Shelly (the owner--who is exceptional and cares about EXCELLENT FOOD, knows EXCELLENT FOOD and DELIVERS EXCELLENT FOOD and well everything is excellent at her restaurant...oh and did I also say...they have a BAR too...that makes foodie experiences that make you CRAVE COMING BACK AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN)! Do yourselves a favor and stop in and enjoy EVERYTHING. For those with a sweet tooth...don't over look their pies and such! Nothing is wrong with this establishment except that it is not right down the street from where we live!!! (Sun city, Georgetown, TX) THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL FIRST EXPERIENCE and ALL OF YOUR KINDNESS and HARD WORK. We will be back soon. Warmly and...
