I just moved to Vancouver and this amazing donut place is close to me so I decided to get two half dozens for friends and myself. First of all the only slightly negative thing I have to say about the place is that parking is a little tricky when busy if you try to park directly in front (parking on the side is much better!) other than that you absolutely must come and visit this adorable donut shop. First thing you notice when you walk in is the amazing smell of freshly brewed coffee. I will attest the coffee is absolutely delicious. Nothing fancy just great coffee that you would get at an old style diner. Next if you go in the morning you will see a bunch of people just sitting and visiting and you can instantly see that this shop is a neighborhood staple. People were so friendly! I even had a sweet gentleman come up and ask if he could go out to my car and give my dog a treat. That absolutely just touched me and my baby girl Zia was thrilled! I have been to a lot of donut shops in my life and I will say this definitely rates in the top five. The bear claws are literally one of the best donuts I've ever had. They are crunchy and cinnamony with a slight taste of possibly almond? I have not figured it out but it is absolutely tremendous and the inside is like a flaky croissant almost. I could gain a thousand pounds eating just those alone! The maple bacon donuts are rich and flavorful and soft and chewy. The cinnamon twist are a burst of cinnamon and really shaped very cool. I haven't tried the other ones yet that I got but I highly suggest visiting this super friendly amazing donut shop. You will absolutely not be disappointed! I got 12 specialty & regular donuts split into six in each box and a small cup of coffee to go and it was $25. After tasting them I think I got an...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe Donut Nook is a special part of my childhood. My dad brought me here so I could experience my first chocolate sprinkle donut in 1983. I was hooked. Every summer we would scrounge up some change from beneath our sofa cushions and ride our bikes to this neighborhood staple to buy a tasty treat.
Over the years, the quality taste of the Donut Nook has never changed. This is a community staple. Conversations are always engaging. One of the last places you can talk to a stranger and become neighbors. These donuts are made with love. The service is always friendly and for a few minutes I feel the weight of the world melt off of me. Throughout several moves, job transfers and life events, I always come back to this Minnehaha gem and know that the donuts and the service will always be the EXACT same way I left them.
To the owners of the Donut Nook, Thank you for providing a place where community can gather-especially for those of us born and raised in Minnehaha. You have created life long customers.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst time asking in. As far as I know, this is the only donut shop in Vancouver, Washington which of course I have to try.
Glazed raspberry filled donuts are my favorites. The rise and glaze were great with yummy, not too sweet raspberry preserves. The only criticism is the filling wasnāt distributed well. I had a good 40% of the donut left with nothing in it. To be fair, I donāt think any donut shop does this perfectly.
One of the donuts that I compare with other shops is the buttermilk bar. This is by far the best buttermilk bar I have ever had. There is usually an after texture to these donuts that make it hard to eat a whole one. This buttermilk bar was creamy throughout and no after texture. The buttermilk is present and not overpowering. There is also mouthwatering crispy exterior.
It is obvious the donuts are handmade. I wouldnāt call them flaws, but noticeable quirks that add character and crispness. I will certainly be returning to try all of the donuts, but also to enjoy more...
