I didn't want to leave a review after just one visit, because I really felt like I needed to try some more stuff on the menu after how awesome that first visit was. Today, I grabbed an early lunch (they open at 1030, I put my order in on the app around 1045) for take out and tried some more stuff that I wanted to check out.
I felt I really needed to give their dipping sauces a try after seeing how amazing their fries are. Don't get me wrong, these fries are PERFECTLY crispy on the outside and very fluffy on the inside, and are delicious on their own or with simple ketchup. But if a place makes fries THIS good, surely they would not slack with their dipping sauces, which they charge 50 cents for, right? Yeah, the Spicy G sauce I got in my to go order today did NOT disappoint. It was just the right level of spiciness in this creamy mayo based sauce to really make my fries POP. But do you want to know what I think the Spicy G sauce was REALLY made for?
Their onion rings! I figured a place that takes their fries so seriously would surely make a pretty good onion ring, too. Right? YEP! Super crunchy and delicious, and as I mentioned, I think they were meant for some Spicy G sauce.
With two sides, surely a little cup of dipping sauce wouldn't be enough, you might be wondering. I don't know if it was a fluke or mistake today, but the 50 cents gets you two cups of sauce.
As for their burgers, so far I have had the Juan Mendoza and the Fun Guy. The Juan Mendoza is a bit spicy and features hatch chiles. That is what I got when I dined in. Perfect amount of spiciness and they really made the hatch chiles the star of the show! The Fun Guy is their take on the classic mushroom Swiss burger. I am a huge sucker for a good mushroom Swiss, so while I saw several others on the menu in the app when pondering my order, I decided to go with the old classic. Plenty of mushrooms, delicious Swiss, bacon, and pickle to add a nice kick which most places' mushroom Swiss don't do. I'm not totally sure how I feel about pickle on a mushroom Swiss, but I'm leaning toward liking it. It helps that their pickles are extremely good.
They season their patties with their own blend, which they also sell on the menu. Some places will go overboard on seasoning, some places barely season their patties. These guys strike a good balance, letting you know the seasoning is there, but letting the beef and toppings be the stars of the show. And as a very pleasant surprise, their buns stand out as a tasty, perfectly textured supporting act. Too many places neglect the bun, these guys gave it some serious thought and effort and knocked it right out of the park.
Ordering on the app was straight forward and easy, no hassles with an easy to use interface. As for the atmosphere of the restaurant, it's very clean with with pleasant modern somewhat industrial aesthetic. And they play a great assortment of 80's and 90's rock. Excellent service both for eating in and taking out.
Definitely give Killer Burger a try. They definitely live up...
Read moreNot happy at all. This was a delivery order (Uber Eats) because we were stuck in the office for the day.
One of the people in my group does not eat meat... so we ordered the Teemah for her since the blue cheese fondue sounded really good to her. The burger was ordered "Patty on the side, separate container". The patty was in a separate box, but the bleu cheese fondue was on the patty... not on the bun with all the veggies and goodness. I did the right thing, I called the store to let them know we didnt ask for the cheese on the side, just the patty. (The patty was to be eaten by another employee who is allergic to bleu cheese, so they didnt get any lunch because of this).
So Im on hold, and the recording pops up and says "We are busy, thanks for calling" and hangs up. Ok,then. I call back. The guy that answered at that time was nice, even a little apologetic. He offered to have a manager come to the phone, and I said that would be great, I didnt want anything free but would like to make it known that our lunch was pretty screwed up. "Manager" finally comes to the phone. He wasnt professional, and not really friendly. I explained our dilemma... he argued with me about it, and said "Well, where would the cheese go if the patty was on the side then?!". Um. Really? ON THE BUN with everything else?!! He said "So veggies and cheese on the bun, thats it?", and I was honestly baffled, my friends. Yes. That is actually how it was ordered, exactly like that. That is precisely what we expected.
The Fun Guy we ordered with the onions and mushrooms on the side (to go on the plain patty we should have had from the Teemah) came as expected. The fries were good all around...
But the one co-worker not getting to eat anything besides a little cup of mushrooms and onions and a few fries was very disappointing, and we had to make another order to get some food here for her. The manager was borderline rude, certainly unprofessional, and clearly needs more training in customer service. We would have ordered from them again sometime and given it another try, but the managers attitude towards me for their own mistake was unacceptable and rules out giving them...
Read moreStand back I’m possed…..Look, when I order a burger with no pickles and no sauce because there’s pickles in the sauce after my son drives all the way from Washougal to your store and my son orders the burger with me on FaceTime and then my burger gets back to the house and what do you think is on that damn burger? Sadly im the one that paid the $91 bill for 4 burgers. So you would think my burger surely would not have pickles on it, but boy oh boy… hold on to your britches - what did it have on it “PICKLES!”. Also, I couldn’t even believe the french fries. I think I got maybe 14 tops, we used to not have to pay for french fries they came with a burger. Honestly what I had to paid tonight makes me furious!!! Since this company has franchised, the Quality Control had deterioratedand gone in the toilet. The sad thing to me is that when the first store opened on Sandy Boulevard In the Hollywood district in Portland. I was one of the first 20 people in the door with my then young kids in tow, because I lived two blocks from it. We loved it, they had happy hour the owner was so friendly and the quality was unmatched. However, I’m never going back….. I’m a fantastic cook, I’ll make my own killer burger since I own a blackstone grill and mix my own peanut butter and honey sauce to ensure there are no damn pickles on my burger!! . It’s not rocket science people.! ...
