The Human Bean — Restaurant in Vancouver

Definitely won’t be going back to this human bean on 162nd. To start off the VERY SALTY girl gave me my smoothie just barely over half full. Which that was not okay I paid full price I would like my full drink, but that wasn’t even the worst part! This girl literally flipped me off. She “casually” but very obviously opened a red bull with only the middle finger sticking out. So I know she purposely flipped me off which is unacceptable. I was very nice and polite when ordering my smoothies so I don’t understand her terribly customer service and the need for that. Only thing I can think of is she was upset because I did not tip her. Which in my defense we are NOT obligated to tip. I always tip at a restaurant because they are actually doing me a service, clearing my table, getting me food/ drink refills etc but when all your doing is simply turning over a tablet screen then no you are not entitled to a tip. I don’t appreciate being flipped off for that. If she is so desperate for tips please go work else where. At a bikini barista or what not. Please be nicer to your customers. And to the Salty girl with the long red nails I’m so sorry your so unhappy at your job god bless...

To be fair, it’s not just this location, it’s all that I’ve been too lately, but this is the one I order from the most. I used to love going to The Human Bean - mostly because getting coffee beans makes my trip. I just feel like the coffee has gone really downhill. I keep trying to give it another chance because to be fair, I usually order here through delivery, and that doesn’t always reflect the actual quality. The coffee though always seems way too watered down - like to be honest on this Snowy Mocha I’m drinking now, it tastes like flavored water. I got a bagel sandwich which was cold like the egg hadn’t been cooked through all the way (and they’re pretty small for the price). I don’t know, I want it taste like I remember - creamy coffee drinks, and it’s just consistently failed on that end for me.

It might be your kind of drink if you like a way lighter coffee taste, but I wouldn’t recommend the bean to anyone...

Went on a bike ride with my kids and my two teens wanted a drink so we stopped here. My daughter ordered a drink, one that she has had before and knows she likes it, and after she tried it she said it tastes funky and not like before. We asked the barista to make something different and she charged me for a new drink. I asked her to throw the gross one away and she refused. I told her I didn’t see any garbage cans outside and she said yeah, sorry can’t help you. She was extremely rude. Needless to say, we will not be going back. I’ve gone to coffee shops for years and have never had such terrible...
