Coffee Cafe — Restaurant in Venice

I REALLY wanted to live this place so as negatives began piling up I kept trying to talk myself out of a less than favorable review, but to no avail! This place is adorable with an artsy atmosphere but the service is atrocious! My friend had a long wiry hair in the blt sandwich she waited 30+minutes for. There was no apology just said they would remake it , which we did not have time for. When we looked in the kitchen (it’s open) the cook had no hair net. Then two in our party of five ordered soup, just soup. It took more than the half an hour the rest of us waited and it was cold. One of our orders was wrong and the very rude and abrasive waitress told my friend, “No, you’re wrong. That isn’t what you ordered. See this is what I wrote down. “ we explained she wrote it down wrong… We asked for separate checks and then she brought out only one bill and acted like we just sprung this on her that we wanted separate checks- and she acted like it was a huge deal, so we paid one check… The food was ok but we were there for two hours for 2 soups & 3 sandwiches and five beverages. They were unsanitary, rude, unapologetic and SLOW! Unfortunately I can’t recommend...

Never again! My coffee cup had brown stains inside it. Terrible service & the food was not good either. I was told they do not have American cheese for my burger because it is processed. ALL cheese is processed. Yikes, then my food came 10 minutes before my husbands?! It was not a good burger & the panini was cheese & ham dry in a pressed bread with no sauce or seasoning. When the bill came the beer ordered was on the bill but after getting out the money to pay I was told that the beer price had gone up and the bill needed to be recalculated. It was a 20 cent difference?!! It was a twilight zone experience for sure. We went for breakfast a few months ago and it was so bad so we thought maybe it would be better for lunch.........only people there at 12 noon on a Wednesday, we should have taken the Q!! Took houseguest for lunch, or so I thought. Several empty tables so not very busy when we arrived. Stood to be seated about 10 minutes, then given the menu and told she would be back shortly to take our order. After waiting and watching the waitress walking behind the counter doing nothing for another 25 minutes. One of my guests waved and called for her attention. She came over to ask if she "could help us with anything ". When told we had been waiting to place our order, she didn't even remember seating us. Then proceeded to say she'd take our drink order shortly. At this point we all decided to go elsewhere. I might add there were only four tables occupied and no other customers came in after we were seated. Have no plans to return here and will most definitely not recommend this establishment.
