Our family of four stayed at the Ramada by Wyndham Venice Hotel Venezia last night. We were in the area for our son's Little League tournament. Although we were pleased with the room, the amenities, and the restaurant and bar and had a lovely evening, our experience took a bad turn when we tried to get a good night's rest due to inconsiderate guests and poor customer service by the hotel staff. Several times between 10:30 PM and midnight, my wife called to complain about loud hotel guests who were loitering outside, going to and from their vehicles, having phone conversations on speaker, and had multiple vehicles coming and going throughout the night. Staff investigated the first two complaints but refused to take action against the offending guests and merely offered to move us to a different room, which my wife refused because our son needed rest before his big game on Sunday morning, and waking him up to pack our things and relocate would have been detrimental to his sleep. At one point, we heard another hotel guest yelling at the people being loud. So, we were not the only guests who suffered this disturbance. On the third call to the front desk, a staff member stated that they encountered two women quietly talking together in chairs set outside their room and she rudely stated, "I don't know what else you want us to do." My wife suggested she ask the people to be quiet and go inside, which the staff member was not willing to do because it would be rude to those guests. We were flabbergasted by the absurd irony. We had to rush out the door this morning and did not have time to discuss the matter in person with the hotel manager. So, we called this afternoon after our son's baseball game. We immediately asked to speak to the manager, but a male staff member asked us to explain ourselves first. He was very rude and told us to "hold on." He then got the manager on the phone, who was quick to defend her staff members, interrupting me on several occasions to contradict my account of our experience. She acted like we were being unreasonable and even said, "They must not have been too loud if your son was sleeping." Obviously, my wife's tolerance for noise is lower than my son's, and that snide comment was the point at which my blood pressure started to rise. I lost my composure and said, "No one should be having a f*ing phone conversation outside other guests' room at that time of night!" She then used my foul language as an excuse to hang up on us. After I regained my composure, we called back and asked to speak to the manager again so we could finish our complaint. I apologized for my language and said I would refrain from cussing. The male staff member refused and hung up after saying, "Obviously, SHE is done talking to YOU!" We have never had such a lousy customer experience and want to caution others about staying here if they actually want a good night's rest. By the way, the hotel chairs were outside for our entire stay, even this morning when we...
Read moreOverall, a positive experience.
We stayed at this hotel because it was one of the recommended hotels by the bride & groom with free public parking and close access to the beach. Our friend’s wedding was held on Venice Beach, Friday, June 23rd
We stayed for 4 days/ 3 nights and I am a Wyndham platinum rewards member.
Our room was decent size, clean, and the bed/pillows were comfortable. The rooms were quiet enough that we didn't hear our neighbors beside us. The layout was motel style with the parking right in front of our hotel room door.
The front desk staff were friendly and when we needed more towels, they were polite and engaging. The pool was large and enjoyable. The cool pool bar with inexpensive food & drinks was nice as well. There was also a decent looking restaurant and gym, which I wouldn’t have expected for a hotel in this price range. Great value compared to other hotels in the area. We would consider staying here again.
Cons: The furniture in the room is older and rather beat up looking. It all functioned just fine but didn’t give the best first impression. The pool could have been skimmed daily, as there was trash floating on the surface. The door to our hotel room was difficult. Sometimes it took a couple of tries to get it to open, but it did always open in the end. The only other issue is the hotel sign. We nearly passed the place several times as the only sign was a ground level banner near the ditch out front.
My husband and I want to personally thank Lisa Marie from the housekeeping staff for following up on our request to tighten the curved shower curtain rod and clean the dusty, dirty bathroom fan vent. She personally stopped me on the way out the door to check on our requests with the front desk for these maintenance issues in our room. As a former front desk guest service associate in the hotel industry, it meant a lot to me that she made it a point to make sure we were satisfied with the...
Read moreBY FAR THE WORST "hotel" EXPERIENCE that I have ever had. No way these positive reviews are real. If you have stayed there, you know that it's truly impossible that an unbiased guest would enjoy their stay here, unless they are living out some type of junkie fantasy or something.
UPDATE!!!! on May 1, 2024 Jacida Corera ("Hotel Manager") responded below, claiming that myself and all of the other guests recently complaining of having their accounts unlawfully charged after leaving the property, we are all allegedly being charged according to company policies. GOOD TO KNOW THAT AT HOTEL VENEZIA IN VENICE, FL IT IS COMPANY POLICY TO RUN UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES RIGHT AFTER THE GUEST CHECKOUTS, IN AN ATTEMPT TO LINE THEIR OWN POCKETS. WHO WOULD SAY THOSE ACTIONS FAL IN LINE WITH THEIR PREFERENCES WHILE STAYING AT AN ESTABLISHMENT AS A PAID GUEST? THESE PEOPLE HERE ARE INSANE.
Interestingly enough Ramada and Wyndham were both very quick to apologize for the unlawful actions of your motel and offer a refund for the entire stay, including the charges for our initial stay. Your company stole from their guests, then refused several times to cancel the charges or provide a refund, so do not try to claim here publicly that you and your staff are doing anything other than running criminal activities...
