A once-favorite spot . . . The Point We used to be regulars at The Point, going weekly, but over time, the quality—followed by the service—began to decline. We’ve given it a few chances here and there, hoping for improvement, but nothing has stood out enough to make us regulars again. Most recently, we visited on Sunday, February 16. They still had their Valentine’s Day specials, which looked good, but we ordered from the regular menu. My other half had the fish and chips, which were solid. I had the sole with seafood stuffing—light and fresh but a bit bland until I added some salt and a splash of lemon, which helped bring out the flavors. The garlic mashed potatoes were fantastic, and the asparagus was well-prepared. One of my biggest frustrations is how frequently the menu changes. Some of my favorites from their original menu are long gone, and it feels like there’s no consistency. The same goes for the staff—I’ve noticed a revolving door of employees, including managers, which might explain the inconsistency. That said, the team working that evening was friendly, attentive, and helpful, which I appreciated. Overall, The Point has potential, but the lack of stability in both the menu and staff makes it hard to rely on. I’d love to see them find their footing again.

Consumer beware……..I was eating my Buffalo chicken wrap on Sunday 9/28 @1:15pm. I took my second bite and after a few seconds I realized I had something in my food. I took/spit it out, there was a razor blade in my wrap!!! We called over the waitress and she immediately notified the assistant manager. An incident report was made and the manager was going to be notified at 4:00pm when he came in. 3 days later and still no response I reached out to the manager and the owner, only then I received a reply. The next day I made a Facebook post and then the owner decided to call. For such a traumatic and dangerous situation you would think someone would have reached out immediately. unacceptable violation of basic food safety standards, and poor management. I guess I’m not the only this has happened to . I was contacted by another person stating this has happened to them as well. They had copies of emails and pictures! With very little response.

Go with Yelps 3.0 and TripAdvisor 3.5 reviews that's more accurate than a 4.2 here on Google. Came here way before Evies took over this location and its still the same poor service , unfriendly staff and food is so~so.

Every time we cone here and swear we won't be back , we try to give this place the benefit of the doubt and give one more chance. Well we are done. Brought family from out of state because they love Tiki bars on Mothers Day. Wasnt very busy . There was plenty of dock space on this visit. The only positive on this visit. Our nephew first comment after we sat down , was the first impression should always be a positive experience. The hostess didn't greet us, had such an unhappy to be there face on. Didnt do a good job of faking that she has a job and should be happy. Sat us with silverware and a drink menu . Don't think she bothered to tell anyone thst they had a table to serve because we sat there almost 20 minutes waiting and looking for someone to flag down to see who was going to take our order. A really nice guy did come over get our orders, apologized , brought us food menus. But that took another 15 minutes for him to bring 3 beers, then had to wait for someone else to bring the 4th beer. So our other person in our party sat there while we had our drinks for several minutes. We decided that we were not going to order food because the first 35 minutes weren't positive.

People say to be easy on businesses because they are short staffed during pandemic etc. But a business should not keep someone at the front to greet people if they look miserable and ungrateful to have a job. This girl belongs behind the scenes not being the face of Evies Of Spanish Point. We were at bars and restaurants for 4 days in Nokomis , Englewood and Sarasota, this along with White Elephant Pub ranks way down on the bottom of the list . Past visits here , same thing, we sit around waiting for someone to acknowledge that we are sitting there. Once seated , a server should come to a table in 5 minutes to take a beverage order or at least run by our table and say they will be there in a minute . So disappointing because this is a fantastic location. But we will now just pass it by while...

Have been going to Evie’s Tiki Bar for several years now and have enjoyed the atmosphere , food, drinks and music. Just left Tiki Bar today March 15 2015 and was shocked at the Bar service from every bartender. Working. The bar was full which is great for business but when you have bartenders that have the attitude they don’t care wether your there spending you hard earned money., that’s a big red flag for me. We sat down at the bar and waited at least 10 minutes. Not one of the 5 bartenders even asked if we needed a food menu, drink even though they walked right by us and made eye contact. Finally had speak up and ask foe one to clean area in front of us at bar. Had to ask a second time for a food menu. He gave us a drink menu only. Asked again and finally got a food menu. What baffles me is I’m watching the bartenders going back to the same people offering drinks and calling them by name while ignoring many other patrons that are willing to spend money also. They must have their favorites that they assume are tipping them well. After having to be proactive and literally waving them down and speak up we we got our first drink. Figured we better order food also or it may be tommorow before we eat. I understand when a place is busy it takes time. But what I don’t understand is when you have employees walking around acting like they are working when they are really there just pretending. You may not want to hear this part but I hope it will help the owner of this establishment to to step up and train or get rid of the dead wait that you are paying to run the place. We will try Evies again and hope it was just a bad day for them but I have. My doubts when employees like this feel entitled instead of stepping up and taking care of valued customers. If not we won’t be back and will be going to other favorite place in our...

I have lived within a few miles of this location for about a decade. I used to absolutely love coming here. It was always a great spot to sit on the water, have a couple drinks, make some new friends, etc... However, my last handful of experiences have been absolutely horrible. My most recent experience I came to watch the sunset with my boyfriend. We walked up to an open spot in the bar, the young bartender was polite asked us what we wanted to drink, and said he'd get on it after the round he was currently on. We're not in a rush, we don't mind waiting at all. The other bartender yelled at my boyfriend "Hey, you want a beer?" Confused, thinking he was being offered something, my boyfriend said "uh, sure" the bartender yelled back "THEN GET IN LINE" at which point we noticed there was a walk up area designated. Our mistake, of course, however, the other bartender had already taken our order, and we already had payment out. The older bartender yelled again, "GET IN THE LINE DUDE". We looked at each other, and walked out. In what world should you be yelling at any of your guests? It's clear we hadn't noticed the walk up area, but does that need to be yelled at us? Couldn't that have easily been a "hey guys, if you don't mind joining the line over there, thanks" Not to mention, again, we had already been waited on! There are so many places within 10 minutes of that location with waterfront views, better service, and better food. I used to bring anyone from out of town here, I won't be doing that any longer, and I won't be returning myself. Absolutely disappointing, as this location could be an amazing spot for the Venice/Nokomis/Osprey area. I have always loved the Evie's restaurants and locations, but it appears they are all going...
