Breakfast was good, nothing extraordinary though. Update 12/23/18: I've decided to reduce the rating after experiencing significant logistical problems on our last visit. It seems Max's Table has become too popular and is now too small. This has created other issues, such as overcrowding, traffic flow (in restaurant and parking lot), noisy dining area, mishandling of customers awaiting seating, etc. When we arrived and requested a table for 6, we were told we were at the top of the list. Several smaller groups came in and were seated before us because tables for 4 were available -- understandable. Poor planning of seating's resulted in a number of 4 person tables being open but being interspersed between recently seated diners. We asked to change our wait-list to "first available" because it looked like a couple tables were opening on the patio. Somehow the hostess sat another group of 6 who came in after us. After expressing our frustration the hostess offered to separate our group into 2 tables, or squeeze us into a table built for 4 -- very tight squeeze! Since we've already waited almost 20 minutes and grew tired of seeing other customers seated ahead of us, we chose to squeeze into the tight table. I was further disappointed when I noticed other tables who were seated well after us receiving their orders before us (we were ready to order as soon as we sat down).
Update 8/24/18: I've been back several times in the past few months and decided to upgrade my rating to 5 stars. I was previously between 4 and 5, but the last 2 visits warrant an upgrade. The food was very good, service was excellent, and several employees (and the owner) took the time to introduce themselves. They run the restaurant like...
Read moreThe food was excellent and the service was amazing! Me and my husband went here on Father's Day and the place was packed and I kind of expected that the service wasn't going to be all that good because they were so busy but I was actually pleasantly surprised our waiter his name was Michael, he was amazing. I ordered the ricotta lemon pancakes I believe they're called and they were so good I also ordered a peach mimosa and I asked them to put orange juice in it and it was extraordinary. My husband ordered a pomegranate Mimosa the way it comes without the orange juice and it was excellent as well. I don't remember what my husband's plate was called exactly but I do know he said it was extremely good. Given the fact that we had both ordered a mimosa and both ordered a large plate of food I expected our bill was going to be kind of high I figured it would probably be around $60 but I was so surprised when I received the bill and it was only $37 I could not believe it I was like okay what's the catch here this place has amazing food, great service, and they're reasonably priced I will definitely be going back...
Read moreI heard about Max's table in a post on Instagram from SRQ magazine. They are listed as one of the top 10 places to get breakfast in Sarasota. Judging by how many people were parking on the street just to get in there, lots of people must have read the same post. Overall the atmosphere was pleasant but not overly special. I must say that the staff is plentiful and very well organized. In a time where it is so difficult to hire anyone, they did not have a shortage of wait staff. This means that although they are extremely crowded, they can turn tables over very quickly. Clearly they have a very organized kitchen as well. The food was good and very well presented. Kudos to the chef for knowing how to actually make a poached egg. It is not the easiest thing and they executed it well. My husband got a cheeseburger... Yes for breakfast. It was generously sized and cooked to the proper temperature. While I will not say that they have the best breakfast in Sarasota, they definitely have a good breakfast and we...
