I recently visited Megusushi, and overall, it was a delightful experience. The restaurant offered good service throughout my stay, making me feel welcome and attended to. The ambiance at Megusushi was enhanced by the pleasant Taylor Swift music playing in the background, adding to the overall enjoyable atmosphere. As a fan, I appreciated the choice of music. One highlight of my dining experience was the raw salmon, which was exceptionally good. The sushi in general was fresh and well-prepared, showing that the restaurant values the quality of their ingredients. However, I was a bit disappointed to find that there was no dessert menu available. It would have been nice to end the meal on a sweet note with some dessert options. I did encounter a slightly confusing dish—the shrimp asparagus roll. While the flavors were enjoyable, the combination was a bit puzzling and didn't quite work for me. Perhaps some adjustments could be made to improve this particular dish. Another observation was that the Habatchi shrimp seemed to have more vegetables than shrimp. While I appreciate a well-balanced meal, it would be nice to have a more generous portion of shrimp to match the menu description. On the positive side, the rice served with the sushi was fresh and perfectly complemented the various flavors of the dishes. In conclusion, Megusushi has a lot going for it, with its good service, enjoyable music, and fresh, tasty sushi. While a dessert menu and some fine-tuning of certain dishes could enhance the experience, I had a satisfying dining experience overall. If you're a sushi enthusiast and appreciate a cozy ambiance, Megusushi is definitely...
Read moreI’ve eaten here a lot over the years and hadn’t been in a long time. They were only open for takeout through a lot of the pandemic. We got takeout several times and enjoyed our meals. I went for dinner with my parents over the weekend and we were extremely disappointed, to the point that I don’t think we’ll ever return, or order takeout. When we got there, several employees were eating inside the restaurant where customers would in theory sit to eat. They asked if we had a reservation which we did and we asked to eat outside where we wanted to anyway. The waitress was not very friendly and seemed very disinterested in helping us. We were asked about clearing plates when there was still food on them. The quality of the fish was not good. The tomatoes on the salad were SO light in color. We are in south Jersey with some of the best tomatoes in the country. Where are you sourcing these flavorless tomatoes from?! We love to go to casual sushi restaurants, but some of it was so mediocre, that I honestly was afraid I was going to get sick. I don’t know what’s going on here, but it’s not as good as it used to be. My mom described the restaurant as being like a ship without a captain. I hope they can resolve their challenges and improve the quality of the food. I really wouldn’t recommend going at this...
Read moreMy wife and I were both sick from covid therefore we had to have food delivered to us and left at our door which we did thru Doordash. The delivery girl did her job. We both got the hibachi steak and lobster using a 100.00 card our son sent us knowing we were sick, so we can order food and we chose Megu.. The food was inedible and we basically threw it out. The steak and lobster were like rubber. The rice was bland. They gave a half of pint of soup which is broth, why they couldn't have given a pint like other Japanese restaurants do we didn't understand. So very disappointing. We had their sushi before which is delicious. We didn't want to have that because of us being ill.. Wish we would have or instead ordered a burger from around the corner instead of spending 100 on what they sent us. So after throwing that out we had a nice bowl of cereal for dinner.. DO NOT GET THE HIBACHI!!!...
