Where do I begin? Should I start with the preservation of nostalgia? The romantic exterior? The well-planned interior design or shall I hit closer to what foodies want to hear? The food is awesome and there is everything on the menu from light fare to fine dining. But what did I love most of all? The people. Jimmy, our server was friendly and on top of his game. The director of Operations, John cares about the experience every person is having.
I am so impressed with the fact that very thoughtful owners decided to place Ventnor’s most beloved movie theatre back on the map- And now created an entertainment venue with bar, restaurant and JaZz shows —that even if your water is not below 30 degrees- I say give them a pass: this place is a hidden jewel; the kind of place that will make you feel like you stepped back in time. So kick back, relax and let the incredibly cool environment overtake you. Oh and yes - let’s not forget that it is attached to an awesome movie theatre!! And 1 of 3 liquor licensed places in Ventnor. Let’s give these folks a 5 star every rating every time as they created a...
Read moreNucky's is the new place TO BE in Ventnor. I am a huge fan of the openness of bar area overlooking Ventnor Ave and the extremely friendly and knowledgeable waitstaff. Maureen was our waitress, she was very polite and on top of her game. Because of Maureen's hospitality, the quality of the food and the amazing ambiance, we came back the next night to experience it all over again. One of the welcoming surprises was receiving our check inside of a cigar box! Nucky's Happy Hour drink/appetizer specials beat out any other happy hour in town, and is becoming one of my favorite places to visit while I'm in town with family.
The added bonus of Nucky's is that it is attached to the historic Ventnor Square Theatre, which completes the perfect date night. I cannot wait to come back and try their dinner menu. I saw the "Nucky Burger" walk by our table and my jaw almost hit the floor from how great it looks.

Read moreI had high hopes for this place. We got sat at a table by the window, which had crumbs and dead flowers on the sill. Our server was great and wasn’t rushing us at all. I ordered a filet medium. When it came out and I cut into the center it was 90% gray all of the way through. I wasn’t going to say anything but our server came up as I was cutting into the center and I wasn’t able to hide my disappointment. She apologized (many times even though we told her not to) and took it back to have another cooked. When the second one came out the runner placed it I front of me and said “I hope it’s rare enough for you”… well when I cut into it, it was purple inside and cold to the touch in the center. After the passive aggressive comment from the runner, I wasn’t about to say anything about this one, hopefully the stack of rare meat on the plate was enough for them to understand. Unfortunately we won’t...
