Denny's — Restaurant in Ventura

Seriously so upset. My friend and I ordered to go. We went there around 10:30ish and the menu says they stop serving soup at 11. The server said the soup was unavailable, whatever no big deal... She pays and tips them $8 for our two meal to-go order. We're waiting, hungry and I'm pregnant... About 20 minutes go by from the time we ordered. We hear a bell go off and see them bag up an order but they don't tell us that it's our order. There is no one else in the restaurant and about 5 minutes go by. I notice I no longer see the server who took our order and now the cook is not in the kitchen.... I asked the other server if that was our order and he said it was a Door Dash order... I asked where the cook was because we had an order we've been waiting a while for IN AN EMPTY RESTAURANT.... It WAS our order and the food was just SITTING THERE getting cold! The bag was sealed with stickers and so we go home and see they didn't give us utensils or condiments. Pancakes with no butter?? Mac N Cheese with no fork? Eggs with no fork? C'mon dude.... I've always worked in restaurants and would've cared enough to let my customers know their damn food is ready (regardless if they tip as well as my friend did or not) and to provide proper utensils and condiments. Ive been going to the Denny's on Harbor blvd for decades. I loved that place. Now that it's closed I went to the midtown location (not quite at the east end ) to a new location that used to be the beloved Bob's Big Boy location. After the meal I had there, I was longing for BBBs more than ever. Whenever i go to a diner, I tend to spend a lot of time looking over the menu item by item, then about 90% of the time I get the club sandwich. I have eaten dozens of clubs and I loved them all. They are a sure bet, you can't screw up this one. Well, Denny's found a way. The put it on regular bread and cut it in half. Half!! Where did you learn how to make a club? The club is always cut into 4 pieces. It makes me feel lkie I'm getting a largeer portion than I actually am. And in my book, you can't call it a club without the 4-way cut. It's like getting a patty melt on anything other than rye bread. It's a heresy! And they threw a couple of lunch meat slices and called it a day. They put a couple of slivers of avaocado on there so they can call it a "California" club. If you've ever eaten Carrow's Cali club you would know that Denny's is a sad runner-up. So Carrow's is gone, Denny's is gone..where have you gone Joe Dimaggio? It's sad time for...

What a horrible experience we had! The place was not very busy, but there was only 1 server. We got our drinks ordered pretty quick, but that was all. We were waiting for over an hour for our food, and when it finally came, it was nice and cold. I was so annoyed that I didnt even eat it. How is a restaurant expecting people to pay to have to wait for an hr to be served cold food. It was not only my party that was unhappy and under served. The party next to us walked out because they had been sitting for over 20 minutes without being greeted by the 1 server that was dealing with everyone. One guy walked out, very angry, because he had been waiting for several items to get corrected, and they were never tended to (missing items for his order, dipping sauces, the check). When it did get busy, things just got worse. The manager and one server were trying their best to smooth things over, but the kitchen was not getting food out correctly or fast enough. The manager said it was not normally like this, but the angry man that stormed out said that this was the second time that he had been there and they had done this to him.
