I used to rave about China Taste to anyone who would listen, I have referred so many people there. I just moved back to CT after being gone 3 years. I just ordered Kung Pao Chicken the other night - I LOVE this dish. It's made from cubed chicken thigh, carrots and celery. What I got looked like a recycled portion of chicken and water chestnuts (KP chicken doesn't even have water chestnuts in it). There were about 6 pieces of boneless chicken breast, maybe 6 pc of carrots, no celery, some odd, sweet sauce. Without exaggeration, 90% of the dish was chestnuts! I brought it back for a refund and what I got was a lie - "Kung Pao chicken doesn't have dark meat (I have had it in at least 4 states and have made it myself, look at any recipe!), this is how we make it, we add water chestnuts". I have ordered it there probably a dozen times and it was never like that. She assured me if I got it again, it would be the same (we will see about that). She asked if she could get me something next time and I assured her there would be no next time. If they did the right thing, gave me a refund with an apology, I would have continued to order there and wouldn't be writing this. But, since they just had to keep the $11 and lie about it, they sacrificed a lifetime of repeat and referred business. Bad, bad customer service. I wish I...
Read moreThis is my "go-to" place for Chinese food in the area. Typically I order delivery, although occasionally I'll pick up my order if I'm out (they haven't been able to offer dine-in since the COVID lockdown). Most times my food is delivered in less than 20 minutes from when I placed the order. If it's longer, then I know they're slammed with orders and don't mind as delay is very rare. When I call, my order is taken quickly in a pleasant and professional way. Their delivery driver, Keith, is great! Super nice and always ensures my food arrives safely. When I open that big brown bag of yumminess, the food is always hot and the containers are filled to the max. For me, each dish is flavorful and filling. I especially like the flavor of the pork fried rice. Their chicken chow mein and roast pork with bean sprouts are my favorites. I also alternate between the beef teriyaki and the sweet and sour chicken. The General Tso's Chicken is also great, as is the green pepper steak with onion!
The thing that impresses me the most is how hard working the staff are. They are super appreciative of their customers and do their best to please their patrons. I greatly appreciate their dedication and great food. I'm glad they are nearby to provide great food at a...
Read moreRead moreChina Taste is likely more of a 4/5, but I feel like I have to redeem this restaurant for all these incorrect reviews. I read the reviews before I ordered and it seems like people (customers) do not know what sweet and sour chicken is. It’s supposed to be breaded chicken with the sauce on the side. That. Is. Literally. What. It. Is. I ordered it and it’s exactly what I wanted. It was way more chicken vs. breading than other places I’ve been (for reference, I’ve had it in several states, and I worked at a Chinese {American} restaurant). Also, I ordered the beef chow fun, and it was surprisingly delicious. I’m hesitant about this specific dish (my favorite) because the noodles usually aren’t fresh, and I got exactly what I wanted from this restaurant. I only took a photo of the beef chow fun (tastes WAY better than the photo shows, I was hungry so the photo was taken hastily to show my family) because honestly we inhaled this food when it showed up, sorry not sorry. I ordered my dishes for delivery and it came on time. What more do these people want. I would/will definitely order again. This place is taste presentation for delivery. I care more about taste, and...
