This was our first time here, and we opted to meet up with friends to get more opinions of the place.
We had a bit of a wait to get seated, but it was done in less than 15 minutes. We were given a choice, a high top table or booth, and we chose a booth.
The booths are a bit awkward as they are an unusual shape. Comfortable for 4 adults, and I'm sure they could squeeze 2 more in if needed. If you were seated inside the booth, talking was okay, but if seated at the ends, then you had to raise your voice to be heard.
Like previous reviews, the background music is hard to hear over the voices. They need someone on dimmer duty to lower the lights to get folks to quiet down a bit. It did make it difficult to hear even the person next to you.
I would also suggest that management put a few tvs on with closed captioning.
The drink menu looked good, but we were all taken aback at the price of the cocktails. $10 + seems a bit steep for our taste. So we passed on those. 3 waters and a sweet tea were ordered. If you are a fan of VERY sweet tea , you are in luck!
Appetizers were hush puppies served with sour cream and onion rings ( which is a side on their menu). Both came out hot, but our runner didn't include plates for the four of us. Those we had to ask for when our waitress returned to take our order.
The onion rings were crispy and had a good taste but a bit heavy with oil from the fryer, and the hush puppies' shape was so round it reminded us of those cake pop makers. We all got a good giggle out of that. They were okay, a bit on the dark side for my liking with a hint of cheese and bacon, but the four of us did not finish them. I opted to bring the rest of the onion rings home.
One of our group opted to get a side salad with a balsamic dressing on the side. She stated it was fine but did not elaborate.
One person ordered the Village Burger, which arrived with the top off of the burger. It was the most colorful plate at the table for presentation. It was juicy for sure as it spread all over their hands. It came with a basket of fries, which were good, but ended up getting colder quicker than they thought.
2 people ordered the brisket with 2 sides. A bean salsa type item and mashed potatoes. No one said it was terrible , but no one was raving about it either. One person did not finish their meal.
I had the BBQ Chicken Flatbread. It is definitely something you'll want to share. It's too large for one, and I did ask for a to go container to bring the rest of it home. Yes, it was that good, and I'm not a big fan of caramelized onions either.
Our waitress was quite pleasant and kept checking in with us to make sure everything was going well. She also made sure we had plenty of napkins and hand wipes ( a nice touch, by the way)
The only downfall I noted was that they need to check between the seat cushions in the booths. Ours was filled with crumbs from...
Read moreThe negative reviews don’t lie! My husband and I both saw the opening of this place and were extremely excited to try it out. We read the reviews before going and decided to still give it a shot despite the not so promising reviews. We probably should have known it wasn’t going to be a great dinning experience when we were given a high top table for myself, my husband and our toddler. We were offered a highchair for our toddler but told it wouldn’t be as high as the table. We declined and asked to be seated in one of the many open booths to accommodate our toddler. The hostess was very accommodating and we were told we would be getting a new waiter. We waited 15mins after being seated at our new table for our new waiter to greet us and take our order. We placed our entire order when they arrived. Our sons meal came out first per our request and then we waited 45mins for our meals with an MIA waiter. The manager made rounds and asked if we needed a box for our sons meal we stated that we were waiting 45mins for our food. They replied “okay” and continued walking past our table barely giving us the time of day. Our waiter finally came to the table to tell us that they placed our food order but someone must have taken it to another table cause they no longer have it. We were given the option to leave and they would remove our meals from the bill and they would give us the check for what we had already received or wait for them to make our order. At this point we had been waiting an hour and this is the first an only mention of our food since we ordered it. We decided if the kitchen could make the meals in 15mins we would wait if not we would leave. The kitchen accommodated us. The food came in a timely manner, and it was okay. The brisket was a little cold and fries tasted stale, like they had gotten heated in a microwave. Definitely not worth the amount time we waited! Overall the food was fine. Nothing to write home about but the service was terrible! Completely disorganized, and severely lacking in customer service!! We wanted to like this place so much but we will not...
Read moreUPDATE: it’s been several months and every aspect of Frankie B’s has declined. Every meal is inconsistent. They constantly change the recipes or preparation. The pork chop is thick and juicy but never has the same sauce. The last time I ordered it, they served it to me butterflied and dried out. The half chicken is different every time, despite the description on the menu. I feel terrible for the workers, who know how inconsistent everything is, but who are at the mercy of the owners who insist on the changes and just aren’t listening to feedback. We used to go 2 to 3 times a week, then less and less frequently, and tonight, we’re done. We will not be back. Today my half chicken was served naked. No sauce, no gravy, no nothing. We are done. And it’s not due to service or atmosphere, but to managements inability to provide a consistent experience for their customers. After trying Frankie B’s in their chaotic opening week, we mistakenly took a break before returning last month. They’re blowing us away, now! Our family’s been back at least once a week. They catapulted to the top few restaurants in the area. The staff is super friendly, the atmosphere is great—whether it’s a quiet night or a game night. The drinks are great, and the meals are even better. The pork chop is out of this world - thick, juicy, delicious. The roasted half chicken is to die for. Add-on sides like mac n cheese or cornbread…heaven. The hot dog - specifically the chili dog - is bangin’. It’s also great for the kiddos. My son loves their chocolate milk, and my daughter convinces us to get the hush puppies every time. Shannon, the floor manager, is fantastic. Very friendly, helpful, and loves to...
