This is an update to my original review which I've left below so you can see how awesome this place used to be. The last two times I've ordered delivery my pizza was crushed, the last time it wasn't even salvageable. While they did replace it, the hostesses on the phone were extremely rude and condescending. The replacement pizza was also drowning in sauce, it was not good. The manager on duty was at least helpful and polite. Eating in house has also gone drastically down hill. I've watched the hostesses ask people to hold, instead of taking their orders, only to talk about high school drama. I've seen this happen multiple times. This also explains why I've been left on hold for 15-20 minutes at a time only to hang up, redial and be helped immediately. I'm not sure if they're revamping their recipes, have new kitchen staff that need more training, or staff that just doesn't care, but the quality of food has gone way down from when they first opened. I really miss their old location in Belleville. They were consistently amazing. Please train your staff better and return to the awesome pizza joint I know you're capable of being.
Original Review: This is probably my favorite pizza joint. The SO and I enjoy splitting a small pizza together and having a few flights off their amazing beer selection. Sometimes service is a little long, but that's simply because they are always packed. The kiddos also enjoy coming here. There are plenty of activities provided at the table. We also order from them often and it's always in the time frame they quoted or faster and the drivers are really polite. Try the lasagna or their chicken poppers too, they're...
Read moreI'm doing this based on two visits. I wouldn't have ever found out about this place if I didn't look up Caprese on Google maps. Had a taste for that but came across this place, read the reviews & noticed people raving about it. I've had pizza from a lot of places including Chicago, so I know good pizza & I'm real picky.
After a bad experience with customer service from Glass Nickel last year I literally stopped ordering from them & I came across Ian's. I thought Ian's was hands down the best until I tried Sugar River Pizza. I'm not knocking Ian's but Sugar River Pizza is leagues better.
Ordered the Margherita pizza the 1st time as usual. Now if you're expecting traditional like the Italian way you're going to be disappointed. Like I was. (Red Eye in Wausau, WI does it that way & it's to die for but this isn't a review for them but gotta mention.) But it looked real good & let me tell you it was phenomenal.
Now the 2nd time I ordered the Concord Chicken Bacon Pizza. I was hesitant to order because I don't like ranch as the sauce base but I ordered it anyway after seeing reviews about the ranch & I got the BBQ drizzle on it. The pizza was phenomenal.
This is hands down the best pizza place I've been too. It's definitely under the radar & I'm so glad I came across. Even if I was 150+ mi away it would be worth the drive coming to have a pizza from here. Good thing I'm...
Read moreWe’ve given Sugar River Pizza two chances. The first one was so so. The spinach and artichoke app was decent. Pizza came out like soup in the middle. Dough completely raw. No problem, we asked if they could just fire it longer. They said they had to just make a new one. Again, no problem. New pizza came out a little under to my liking but honestly it was pretty good. No discount or comp but we felt that was fair as the service was good and they dealt with it nicely. Fast forward to tonight. We decided to stop in for dinner. We were seated right away. Restaurant didn’t seem too busy. We waited for at least 20 minutes at the table. Nobody acknowledged our presence. Multiple waiters/waitresses walked around us, taking order from folks seated afterwards. At one point the host that seated us made direct eye contact with my girlfriend and still nothing. After over 25 minutes we decided to leave. We asked our host for a water to go and let him know that nobody had talked to us. He gave a very weak apology and that was that. We left with a sour taste in our mouths. I’ve heard such great things from many friends and family. It’s a shame we had a mediocre experience the first time and a downright terrible experience the second. I don’t think we will be giving SRP a...
