New favorite tacos!!! This was my first visit to this taqueria. When I arrived, native Spanish speakers were finishing a to-go order at the counter--that's always a good sign of a place's authenticity. The person who took my order spoke Spanish and English. I ordered a chorizo and pastor taco and a kids quesadilla. We dined in. The eating area is pretty spare with a couple of sombreros. I liked that it was quiet with no loud music. The fall sunlight shone into the windows making it nice and toasty--would be a great winter spot to get warmed up. Chips and salsa are complimentary; the salsa is delicious. It's house made and almost a little sweet, very mild. Our meal was served quickly and piping hot. The tacos had just the right amount of onions--not too much. And the corn tortillas were soft and delicious. The chorizo taco was perfect. The pastor taco had lots of pineapple. The price per taco was $3.11, which tracks with other local taquerias. My daughter loved her quesadilla. We bussed our own table. I will definitely be returning for these...
Read moreI don't give bad reviews and not sure how there are a lot of good ones but a friend and I wanted to try it because of the reviews. I ordered the cheese dip for the table and we wondered what was taking so long just for cheese dip. When we finally got it with the rest of the food we could tell it was just sitting out for a long time because once we got it the top was like a paper thin cheese. I ordered the chimichanga which came with rice and beans. The chimichanga and rice were good but the beans was so cold. My friend ordered a vegetarian meal and the guy didn't understand how to even make it. There was no taste she said and it looked like the beans were just thrown on. The menu was hard to read because it kept changing. It was so quiet in there that you could hear other people's conversations. I hope they fix...
Read moreWent earlier this year and had a fantastic experience, however we dined in last night and we were disappointed. I had a carnitas burrito, and there were several chunks of tough cartilage in the meat. The burrito was mostly rice and lettuce, very light on the meat. My wife had Chile rellenos, and the cheese was still very firm inside, and the flavor was bland. The pork tamale had very little flavor, and the masa was dry and crumbly.
The fish taco, however was very good. The fish was very crispy, and the tortilla was fresh. We also had chips and queso, which was also very good.
I really hope this was a just a one off experience, and that this place thrives based off the first meal...
