By no means worthy of the 4.5 star rating this restaurant currently has!
Sticky floors - paper towels in the stall for toilet paper - no paper towels. These were our 1st impressions
At 1st we thought things would be quick because the waitress rushed us to put in drink orders. The restaurant was mostly empty with only 3 other tables of folks, 2 of which left shortly after we arrived. Drinks did not arrive the next time she came to the table or the 3rd time around. At 45 minutes in we began discussing just taking the check for our drinks & eating elsewhere. The waitress finally appeared to take our order moments later. This was not a large group, just 4 in our party. I ordered an entrée of 2 "Jumbo" crab cakes & 2 sides, hushpuppies & gumbo (The "gumbo" was rice & gravy, advertised as 1/2 seafood 1/2 chicken). The 2 crab cakes were 2" in diameter or less, marble sized hushpuppies & a 1/2 cup bowl of "gumbo". The portions were not equal to the charges & the food was terrible. All for the very WAAYYY over priced amount of $16.49. This was not just my personal opinion. Each person at the table tried the horrible things put on my plate mascarading as crab cakes. Each person made the same horrible face when these things entered their mouth. 2 of the 4 were not able to swallow it & so spat it back out into their napkins. When the waitress asked if I needed a take home box, I said no. When she asked if I liked it, I said no. She the preceeded to make a big fuss over WHY didn't I tell her.
I did not want to be there any longer. I did not want to take the chance with any other food! And she was barely around had I wanted to do that.
When she brought the check she happily announced that she discounted our ticket. 1/2 of my entrée was deducted, but we had additional charges on the ticket that we were unaware of that made up the difference, such as potatoes & sausage cost extra with the "shrimp boil" meal.
Do NOT waste your time, ...
Read moreWe visited this place on Valentine's Day for dinner. Fortunately there wasn't a wait and we were seated right away. Once seated we were greeted by a very inexperienced server that seemed distracted and like she was in a hurry to get our drink order. I order a hurricane and my husband asked for a draft beer. I'm assuming the waitress didn't know the difference between draft and beer in a can because she brought a canned beer. We ordered the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. They were mushy and the dish wasn't hot. We also ordered a cup of seafood gumbo that was literally a bowl of rice and roux...no seafood.
As an entree I ordered the red fish and my husband ordered the stuffed grouper. Prior to confirming his order for the stuffed grouper, he asked the waitress what it was stuffed with since it was not mentioned on the menu. The waitress replied "I don't know, I've only been here for a couple of weeks." When our food came out my husband's stuffed grouper looked good and he had no complaints. Per the menu my red fish was supposed to be topped with creole sauce, shrimp, crawfish tails, and fried calamari. The only thing that it was topped was a little creole sauce and several pieces of calamari. After five minutes of trying to get the attention of our waitress, I asked her where the shrimp and crawfish were and why didn't it come with it as stated on the menu. She told me that she didn't know the ingredients and that she would check on it. After waiting for about fifteen minutes I FINALLY received my red fish...PLAIN!! Yep, that's right PLAIN!! There was nothing on it but fried calamari. The manager then came over and after throwing the server under the bus, acted as if she was doing me a favor by taking it off of our ticket. The meal was $15.99 and for some reason she took off $15.63. I'm not sure what that was about, but all I knew was I was beyond ready to get...
Read morelong Long LONG time customer....especially during crawfish season...but not sure what in the world is going on over the past year. Food is good but SERVICE has been horrible. Total "front of house" issue. I go 1 to 2 times a week, and it has been a noticeable change. I give a place 3 tries before I am done. They burned 2 this year already and today was the last. I went in around 3pm for a late lunch for a tray or 2 of crawfish as the season is winding down. It was a little busy for Mothers Day but nothing out of the ordinary there. I sat at the bar as another couple sat also. It was a good 5 minutes before the bartender came to us. Not sure why, but the bartender first assumed we were all together and immediately asked if it was one tab or separate as we ordered drinks. I just got a beer. The lady in the couple ordered a strawberry daquieri which the bartender got right to making but then went off doing other things. He came back and asked what the couple would like and the woman said "uhm....that daquieri you were making"...."oh ! oh yeh!" the bartender said...very odd! Well, I sat and drank my beer. Not ONCE did the bartender come back and ask any of us if we needed or wanted anything. I finished my beer and never had the chance to order any food. Finally, I asked for my check, paid for my beer and left. That was the third and LAST time. Not that I think they will care, but I will literally NEVER be back there again. Hate to see a local place like that fall...
