Sol Azteca Méxican Restaurant — Restaurant in Vestavia Hills

I am from Texas which is fairly close to Mexico. During my lifetime, I have had my share of excellent, good, fair, and terrible Mexican food. This food is bordering on disgusting, it is not traditional Mexican food in any form. If I was blind folded and taste testing I could only classify it as completely terrible, with salsa that left me wondering if it was Italian spegetti sauce. The meat is bland, taste old and dried out ( especially the beef) the spices they choose are completely wrong for south of the border. I actually felt ashamed that I had to pay for these 3 horrible meals. I want to note that I have eaten here 3 times over the course of a years time span in hopes that this restaurant would provide me with some type of satisfactory result only to be disappointed every time. Went there tonight and am extremely frustrated. When I was checking out, I handed them my card. They swiped it and then asked to swipe it again saying it didn’t go through. I gave the card back, and they swiped it again. Once again, they said it didn’t go through. I gave them the card a third time and said “Are you sure you’re not charging me? This is making me nervous that you might be charging me multiple times” They brought the manager over and he swiped my card a fourth time. They said it finally went through and I asked the manager if they had charged me for the three other times and he assured me they hadn’t. I checked my bank account tonight and I had been charged four times. Will be disputing this with my bank and never returning again. Be careful going here.

Update from the next day: They happily went in and added custom tips on each charge that I didn’t sign for. Will bring going into the store today to handle...

The food was wet ..lol I ordered the shrimp chimichunga, and it looked like they just put bean juice with it. When I cut into it gross,just bean juice and gamy shrimp the lettuce was not fully chopped and they didn't dice the tomato they just laid it on top of the lettuce like a burger the drinks were watered down sizing was the worse they never even asked if the food was good I wasn't satisfied but because I was going to meet some old friends they like this place I didn't want to complain I knew I would only be going for them others complained as well but I highly doubt the cared considering they were breaking there glasses lol 😆 the host ordered us a shot and they brought out what they had 🤣🤣 I guess ..I wouldn't drive from my side of town to this particular mexican spot pass by it yes but stop no only for the girls I did suggest we try some other mexican restaurants to open their minds up so hopefully this was...
