Our party of 3 waited about 20 minutes on a Sunday at noon to be seated. In the meantime we watched crawfish being cooked from a front porch bench and their setup was impressive! We were seated at a table that wasn't wiped down after the last patrons, but overall the restaurant and restrooms were clean. We stuck to the basics when ordering, and opted for 2 catfish plates, one with mac and chz substituted for fries. The catfish and hush puppies were perfectly cooked and the tartar sauce was a lovely compliment. We were not big fans of the fries (tasted like they had been frozen a long time) or mac and chz (the pasta was gummy and there wasn't much flavor), but we did see some greens and limas that another table ordered that we would try next time. The waitress told us sides are $3 each if you'd like to build a veggie plate. Ketchup comes in small plastic throw-away containers and they will bring more if you ask. Don't say no to the tartar sauce! Parking was easy with the overflow next door at Toney's liquor store. With the temperatures nearing 100, some fans on the front porch would be nice for people waiting. There were a considerable number of older people and it seemed a bit dangerous, especially when the gas fired up for cooking the crawfish.

Wife had smashed redfish poboy and liked it. I ordered grilled red snapper. Filet came out curled and so tough I needed a knife. Took a couple of bites and said this is not right and sent filet back. Replaced with normal textured filet. Chef never should have sent first one out all curled up. I suspect freezer burn. Slaw a little too Mayo for me. Fried okra ok. Kids had Burger and mashed potatoes that they liked. The fried catfish is good. Boiled crawfish good. Can't recommend the grilled fish entrees. A couple of months after first review above wife tried grilled red snapper recently. She just nibbled at it said it just wasn't good. I tried it tasted and smelled like 3 day old fish left outside. She wondered why middle was soggy. I had seared tuna dry and hard, try Rusty's grilled tuna very good. Waitress was very understanding and gave us another grilled snapper fillet that we took home. Tried it next day same results. Never have had this many bad experiences with grilled fish anywhere. Grew up on a bayou fishing, crabing and shrimping, I know what seafood should taste like.

Totally disappointed ..I called in an order for wings, okra, and fries. I arrived and they took my card for payment and went to get my order. She came back out and said they were out of wings. When an order is called in...a ticket prints in the back so why didn't the cooks alert the front they were out of wings?? So instead of crediting back my card she hands me cash and then brings out the okra and fries. (Which not sure what I was supposed to do with sides and no main meal.) They didn't seem to really care at all about this. Then another person comes and gives me the taxes back on the wing because the original person gave me an even $15. (They were discussing how to make sure their drawer wasn't off at the end of night which is why I guess they decided to give me cash versus reversing the charge on my credit card.) I get home and the okra is soft and tastes like burnt grease and the fries were not seasoned. I threw both items in the trash. Totally disappointed in this whole experience. I didn't call back because the host/cashiers didn't seem concerned anyway.

After looking up good restaurants in Vicksburg MS we found Toneys with mostly good reviews so we decided to try it. We went on October 7, 2021 and was Very, Very disappointed. My friend and I ordered the daily specials. Beef tips, greens, her side was limas and I had Mac and cheese. Most sides with our lunch were cold and had no flavor and meat was only room temperature. Greens and Mac and cheese all absolutely flavorless. I asked for a bowl of hot Mac and was half through with what I could eat (stomach) of the rest which was less than half went the Mac was bought out. The Mac was still not hot and the waitress told us everything was canned food. The banana pudding was a lump of yellow tasteless pudding with a few wafers around it with no bananas. The waitress again told us it came from a can. The beef was tough hard to chew and grisly, greens tasteless. Nothing was seasoned. My stomach was turning before I left so I had to take a PeptoBismol to no avail. We went to a book store less than 15 minutes away and I soiled my clothes all the way to the floor. It was Toneys food undigested. It would not digest. It went straight through my intestinal system I was looking at the beef, Mac and greens on the floor. I’m being very descriptive purposely because I don’t want this to happen to anyone else. We went by a visitors center after cleaning up the book store. The representative in the center told us the same thing happened to her twice at Toney’s Grill and she would not go back. Fortunate for me my friend had some clothing in her car or I would be nude from waist down. In defense of the waitress she did the best she could to explain the terrible food. However, I won’t be back. Toney’s Grill need a visit from the health Department restaurant Inspectors. Receipt: 10/07/2021. 14:00:01 AID: A000000025010801 SEQ: 42 Batch: ...

Today was my very first day coming to Toney's, and I definitely have to say it won't be my last. My coworkers and I were looking for something easy and delicious that I could pick up and bring back to work at the Military Park. So upon learning about Toney's very reasonably priced lunch specials, we decided to get our lunch from here. I called ahead of time so that it would be ready or mostly ready by the time I got there. I think I waited five minutes before the food was brought out. I paid and left. When I got back to work I took a quick bite of my Shrimp poboy which was AMAZING, so full of flavor....but I noticed that my french fries weren't in there...honestly that wasn't a big of a loss to me because they're just fries and the price I paid for the poboy was more than adequate...but my friend's pudding wasn't in the bag either...so I called them up just to see if I could maybe pick it up after work or get it tomorrow...they immediately offered to bring the missing items to the military park...we had our fries and pudding within 15 minutes...the fries were HOT and fresh which I thought was a really nice extra touch. I've also tried a bite of the crawfish etouffe my friend offered and it is very yummy and flavorful. Only wish the house salad had more on it (maybe some cucumbers?) than just lettuce, tomato, and cheese. Either way, I'm very pleased with the service and the taste of the food....I will be...
