I am very disappointed with my first visit and doubt if I will go back. I was there this past Monday while in town for business. This is the first time I have been to an Irish bar with a Spanish bartender. I am in no way prejudice but wasn't accustomed to it. I can understand there might be a need and can accept that if they were more professional and kept the Irish theme in mind. . What I will never tolerate is the workers talking Spanish right in front of you. There was the female bartender and I presume the manager. Even when they put in order for a gentleman I was speaking with next to me they kept talking Spanish, not cool. Not only that the manager was on the phone right in front of us talking in Spanish. I had finished my drink and he was right in front of me and noticed but he did nothing. I even gave him the motion I was done and he just walked away.. THEN HE WALKED OVER TO THE POOL TABLE AND SHOT POOL WHILE HE WAS WORKING AND I WAS WAITING ON SERVICE. During this time the bartender was somewhere in back and I was still waiting with no one behind bar to wait on me and close me out. I actually stepped outside to see if anybody even noticed and they did not. I had to call on phone and it rang many times to get bartender to wait on me to close me out. On top of that my bill was totaled incorrectly. I was not given an itemized bill but it seemed high so I asked how much my drink was. So I realized I was overcharged for the appetizer and the reason I ordered app was because of sign (right over register) that says all apps $6.00 during happy hour. She said she was new and did not even no this. I guess there isn't much more that...
Read moreMade a reservation on Friday for this Thursday. Reservation was for 12 at 12:30 in the afternoon. We walk in and the woman is extremely rude claiming we have no reservation even though we have receipt of the call and information. She takes the other 2 people just coming in at the bar before helping us. Meanwhile all 12 of us are standing here waiting for a place to be seated after her rude tone and remarks towards us. Not sure why you wouldnât jump on 12 people wanting to give you good business, but Iâm not working there. She says the cook doesnât come in until 12:30 so now we have to wait until they come up and get ready, which was fine until she said it would be a problem with our group. She also told the people to move down at the bar since our group was going to be a problem for them. She said to them âmove down this group is going to be a problem for you guys.â After walking out, we then called the number, and I think it was the owner that picked up, they were more than happy to accommodate a group of us this size immediately. We called just to see if that was just the one woman or the overall vibe of the place, but at that point we had decided to leave and go elsewhere. This place is very unorganized (clearly), dimly lit, and is a small space. If youâre thinking about coming here to have a fun time, I would consider checking out other places...
Read moreMy friends seem to adore the place, but every experience I've had has been rather poor. It pretends to be a nightclub with blaring pop songs and a "DJ" of sorts, however the space is too cramped to actually dance, let alone move. While they blast the music that no one dances to, good luck at having a conversation with the person 10 inches away from you; most times my conversations have turned into shouting matches just to describe my day.
You're lucky if you can find a seat, whether at the bar or a table, so expect to be standing around a lot at night. The pitchers I suppose are cheap, however I've had suspicions that they water down the beer (water downed Coors light, you think you wouldn't notice but you do). Alternatively, I tried their Guinness which is on tap, and even that tasted lack-luster and flat (imagine dark beer with no boldness).
If you're looking for a place to unwind and to catch up with friends, this is not the place for you. If you're a 20-something college attendee, you'll probably be right at home if your night-to-night activities are usually frat/sorority...
