I had hi hopes for this place. I was excited to check out, based on all the reviews. Just unfortunately, everything that could go wrong went wrong.
First, we got there a little after 12:30, and there were a bartender, two cooks, and a server/bartender. There were also only 2 other guests sitting at the bar at the time, and a group of 4 ladies closing out their tabs and drinks. It seemed though only the main bartender for some reason could make drinks. It took 15 minutes just to order a drink, which is odd figuring it was dead, when we arrived. I understand though, being a bartender, no biggie. We got our drinks, then we asked for food menus. The bar started to pick up but nothing crazy. Still just four of us at the bar. Then we ordered a bacon cheeseburger and a hot dog with pickles, nothing crazy.
While we waited for our food, two more people came in to work. Another bartender and server/bartender. So now there is 2 cooks, 2 bartenders and 2 server/bartenders. The bar is picking up a little about 10 to 12 more people came in and yes there is a sitting area in back. We played the machines, won some money and killed 30 minutes. Came back to the bar and asked the bartender where our food was, she is like there were other orders before yours, so it is back up..interesting because we saw like 4 tickets total. But it won't be that long. We waited and waited, then someone who sat down 20 minutes after us at the bar got their food. I was like, why are they getting there food, well it is fried food only so it is easier. Again, there were two cooks, one of the guys was doing nothing and the kid cooking was slow and didn't know what he was doing. Finally after waiting for 45 minutes we asked again about our food, still working on it. We left. We were hungry and ate somewhere else, extremely dissappointed.
I would not recommend anyone eating here if there is anything going on. The cooks are incompetent and can't make a burger and hotdog with maybe 20 total customers in the whole place, again, we were there before most of them. The service was extremely slow, with 4 bartenders/servers. Why is the main bartender making drinks for the other two? How come it took 6 employees to cook, server drinks and they were so slow? I wouldn't spend a dime here until they all get fired and hire new staff who are competent. No it shouldn't take 45 minutes to make a bacon cheeseburger and hotdog. It wasn't even that busy.
I have been bartending for 15 years, and most times cook plus bartend, and the only server. These people were slow, horrible service and you really need a whole new crew. The only cavet is the comped our meal and drinks.....
Read moreWe have been long time customers and friends of previous owners of Buckhorn for years. We thought we would Check out the fish fry today with new owners now known as “Mollys Buckhorn Tavern” Unfortunately very Un-impressive . The new owner walked by us the entire time we were there while we sat at the bar as we ordered food and drinks . Did not acknowledge us at all the entire time. Spoke to everyone around us .. did not look at us .. nor say a word to us the entire time and money we spent there . Incredibly unprofessional. Never were treated like this with the previous owners what so ever, nor did they treat any customer that came in to the Buckhorn this way. . I have worked in the food service business as well as currently health care service industry. Rule #1 Always acknowledge those that have taken/chose the time to be here right now. This to me speaks volumes of who these...
Read moreStopped for lunch and menu looked promising, but we were told the wait for food was an hour. Several other patrons also elected to leave rather than wait. Only saw two servers and one cook. It being a weekend when business would be busier, alternate plans for an outside cookout or catered food would have not only satisfied hungry customers but would have also resulted in higher profits. Bartender was rude to one of our party who ordered drinks. Looked like a decent place to grab a bite, but we...
