I think today is my last time ordering from this place. Leading up today, since I posted the review below, every order we have made has had one issue after another. One week the kitchen sent an email the order would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrive a little late since it takes me at least 15 minutes to drive to the diner and then I had to wait over 40 minutes for my food. Last week I arrive at the time indicated the food would be ready for pickup, which I end up standing waiting for my food to come out for twenty minutes. The whole time I see a bag sitting on the kitchen counter. When I asked the manager (or owner) if he could look to see where my food is, he ends up taking the bag sitting in the kitchen counter for twenty minutes (which is not even under a heat lamp that was sitting on the kitchen counter for at least twenty minutes). Well today was either intentionally done or incompetence. If you look at the pictures below, the first is a response indicating at 12:11 a second email would be sent indicating when the food would be ready for pickup, normally the second email has been sent between 3-5 minutes. However, I had not received an email after more than ten minutes. I called the diner and spoke to the hostess who went to the kitchen to check on when the order would be ready at 12:23 (picture 2 shows when I hung up and picture 4 indicated I was on the phone four minutes). During the time the hostess was in the kitchen the second email came indicating my food would be ready at 12:46. Sadly the hostess returned to tell me the food was ready for pickup at 12:25, even though the kitchen staff sent chow now an email indicating my food would be ready for pick up at 12:46 or 11 minutes later than what the hostess indicating the food was ready for pickup. I live at least 15 minutes from this diner, so even if I left then, it would be at least 35 minutes before I would arrive home with cold pancakes, sausage and bacon. Even more frustrating is if I had not called the food would have been sitting on the counter for 11 additional minutes or 46 minutes. As a customer this is the worst service I can ever remember receiving.
3 Star rating on this review 2021- Mt Kisco Diner is a family favorite. However be prepared to expect things not to arrive home when you order takeout. For example, once this summer our ordered was missing two side orders of sausage or a few weeks later my order was missing my protein for my salad or tonight my kids Vanilla and Black and White Milkshake were missing. Some days they are on top of it, but some nights when the place is slammed expect something...
Read moreSome of the worst food we have ever eaten in our life we left disgusted and hungry. The food was dried out the chicken cutlet tasted like it was two days old under a warming lamp and the Rocky Balboa had no flavor and was dry also. The bread tastes like they were cheap rolls that you were getting a discount store. The fries were just okay. Now let's get on to the service there was a little bit of a wait for a table which was expected. Waited almost 45 minutes for a waitress and unlike the rest of the waitresses in the restaurant she had an attitude like we were inconveniencing her by being there. Should a dirty scale on the whole time meanwhile never met this person before ever. This was our first time there and our last. Manager came over and said he was going to be right back never came back we found him hanging out over by the cash register staring at the butt of the girl working the cash register instead of worrying about what was going on in the restaurant. We voiced our displeasure even when we tried to get them to come back to our table and he never did and we told him what we thought of everything and he just basically stood there with his hands in his pockets look who wish we knew sooner we could have done something about it like hello we're the only table without anyone coming over without food without drinks for 45 minutes and we were right next to the door to the kitchen not in some far corner of the restaurant. Just horrible attitude by everyone we encountered in there. After following their Instagram and seeing how amazing this sandwiches looked we expected so much more and we are so very very very disappointed. Would give this place negative stars if it was possible. So disappointed in fact that I even took a picture of our receipt. And a picture of the chicken so you can see how badly...
Read moreMy overall experience at Mt. Kisco diner was good! We got there a little after 11 and the parking lot was packed! (So yes they have a lot but we ended up having to find parking on the street). It looked like a lot of places were free on Sat/Sun on the street, but don't forget to check if needed! We were just a party of 2 and it was packed when we got there. They said it would be about a 10-15 min wait but we really only waited about 5 so that was nice. I don't believe they take reservations, so just be prepared to wait in general but also maybe a little longer if you have a large party. We were seated and within a few minutes someone was asking us if we were ready to order. Their menu is EXTENSIVE so we needed some more time. We finally decided on the next level wrap (deep fried buffalo chicken with Mac n cheese wrap) with an upgrade of truffle fries (+$5), the short rib grilled cheese with an upgrade of disco fries (+$5), and a chocolate chip cookie mega shake. Overall the food was great! The truffle fries were delicious. The buffalo chicken had just a slight buffalo flavor but I wished it was more. And eating it was sooo messy! The short ribs fell apart in your mouth. The part that fell the most flat for me was the milkshake. When I say Instagram vs reality, I mean wow what a difference. If you check their Instagram for the chocolate chip milkshake (which is a mega shake) and compare it to what I got? Not the same thing. It was good, the cookie was good, but no crumbles of cookies like I was expecting. It’s just a lot of money and I didn’t necessarily think it was worth it. Overall, it was a cute diner with good food and I truly think there is something for everyone here! I’d try it again because of all of the...
