Ok so I really struggled with what I should say about this review because after reading the many great reviews about this place, we decided to try dinner takeout last night (Monday night) and the food was NOT great. I don't know what to say about the service because my fiance went and picked it up but I'm sure it was ok because nothing was said negative. So we spent about $23 to $26 a piece on dinner entrees and I can honestly tell you that my dinner, which was the seafood stir fry, looked fantastic by picture but tasted and looked exactly like the banquet tv dinners you get from your local grocery stores frozen section. Which costs less than 5 bucks. The portion was big but who cares when it tastes and looks like that? I wish I took a picture and I'm really upset that I didn't because you really can't begin to understand what I'm describing unless you see it yourself. It was exactly like the TV dinners. It was almost like they dumped a bunch of them in one container and nuked it. My fiance got shrimp linguini which he said was, "ok" but how can you really mess that up, I'm thinking it was dry beings he does get this entree from alot of different places. Oh and his portion was half the size of mine. The seafood pieces in my portion consisted of mostly hard broccoli, peppers, onions, a few petite shrimp and quite a few scallops-ill give em that. But definitely not the picture at all. I was so disappointed. the bread was great. I did really like their bread as it's the long stick kind. My salad wasn't that fresh but I was so hungry that I devoured it and I did really like the Italian dressing that I chose. It had a sweet taste to it which was good. My fiance said that maybe we just got the wrong meals and to not base my review on that which I understand and maybe I could give another shot for their breakfast but my fiance had an interesting point when he said, "well how can you mess up breakfast?" Lol. So I honestly don't really know if I could order dinner again beings it wasn't just one entree that was bad, it was 2. Going off of these other reviews, I don't understand how this could be and wondered if it was just us. But we eat out alot and try many different places plus our palates aren't too picky at all. I eat just about everything there is without any dislike. And I've had mediocre meals that I actually enjoyed so I don't think this is on us. You can have a reslly good experience with great service and a few things that were good but with a bad meal and some might find it in their hearts to leave a review not mentioning anything negative and that's not good. That sucks because you're setting people like me up for failure when you aren't being completely honest for fear of hurting your servers feelings or the establishment. I say to hell with that because these places need to know this kind of stuff so that they can fix it or else they won't survive especially in this broke down town with the horrible inflation that has taken place. I ordered a CHICKEN cheesesteak on the phone for pickup. Shortly after I got a called on from the restaurant to confirm my order because the young lady ADMITTED that she put it in wrong and they had made a regular cheesesteak and told me they would remake it (no hate to her she was very nice)
When I arrived they CHARGED ME WRONG. Now when I saw the price I thought it was weirdâŠbut with inflation I didnât question itâŠ.until the nice young lady came around the corner and asked did I still want to the 2 liter (I never ordered a 2 liter sodaâŠ) I was refunded & they insisted that I take the other cheesecake since it was already prepared. ( I DIDNâT ASK FOR IT) not to rude, I took it.
Now when I got home and started eating the cheesesteak it was clear that it was subpar and not to black olive standardsâŠ.and plain words it was nasty. Which was very disappointing because I used to come here all the time so Iâm not sure if theyâre under new management, but they should get a new cook in the kitchen. God bless.
So I decided to give them a call back and kindly ask for a refund and communicate my frustrations and instead of being professional & apologizing for the inconvenience she became indigent and defensive. Instead and I quote âthey donât clean the grill unless they are cooking eggs.â I reintegrated to her that I wanted a refund due to the fact the sandwich was not of the quality I was use to from this restaurant.
After giving me attitude she âinstructed meâ to bring it back. Which I did, along with the INCORRECT ORDER. By the way she tried to make it as if she had done me a favor by giving me the order she had gotten wrong.
Upon arriving at the store I asked for the manger I had spoken to she indicated that it was her and I informed her that she needed to âlearn how to speak to people and be more professionalâ she passively aggressively tried to brush me off which seemed like it was only to keep the conversation down in front of dining guests and avoid accountability for her behavior. In her hastiness to get me out of the restaurant she gave me the wrong refunded amount and when I brought it to her attention she felt like I was wrong. When I calmly showed her error in mathematics (counting) she admitted to her mistake and refunded me the CORRECT AMOUNT. I could feel her anger towards me.
So much so when I was walking out she whispered as if I could not hear her that I:
âNEED TO LEARN HOW TO ORDER CORRECTLYâ
I kindly turned around and asked her âwhat did you just say?â She said nothing, and I informed she needed to âBe more professional with customers regardless of the situationâ
I addressed the other manager and asked if she felt like this was a professional interaction between customer and management. Her response was:
âNo not at all but this is not an issue we can address at moment with customers hereâ (WASNâT I A CUSTOMER TOO???!!?)
In conclusion I donât recommend that sheâs fired but URGENTLY retrained on how to deal with the general public. At this present moment she is clearly not qualified to be a manger. I pray she has the day she deserves. đ©· âSERIOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE...

Said that I would get it within an hour. I was like ok itâs Saturday, thatâs fine. 2hours later, I still didnât get my food. Then yet another DoorDasher went up to pick up my food. He had to call his boss, who had to call Black Olive to make sure they make my food. I got a phone call from my Dasher, he told me that they DIDNT even start making the food. They lied and told him that I cancelled my order an hour. Not Realizing that my Dasher can see if I cancelled my order or not. I ONLY tried to cancel my order after the DoorDasher called me and told me that they didnât even start it. It said couldnât even cancel it because my order is already getting made?! Which was another lie because my Dasher just called and said that people at Black Olive are saying that I cancelled my order but I didnât cancel it and then even after hours of waiting, I couldnât even cancel it. But they sure took my money. After 3 hours later, my Dasher is at my house with the food. Then the bag broke so their was sauce EVERYWHERE! It was a mess. I spent more time getting sauce off of myself and my clothes then eating! Never will I ever order Black Olive though DoorDash. Their food is normally food. The food wasnât that good.
