My family and I have been to Martino's plenty of times over the years (birthdays, anniversaries, even our wedding reception) because the food is awesome and service was great. Last night when my Mother in law and spouse decided to go out to dinner, choosing Martino's was a no brainer. Unfortunately our experience yesterday was THE WORST and I don't know that we will ever go back to this establishment. We were sat at a table at approximately 6:25 p.m. and our waitress didn't come to our table until 6:34 p.m. to take our order (Yes, I know the exact time we ordered). I asked the waitress to bring my 1 1/2 year old daughter's food out as soon as possible because let's face it, small children don't have a good attention span and lack patience. The waitress said "no problem." My daughter's food came out really quick which was great (although it was just a cheeseburger, nothing that should take long anyway). Our waitress came to our table at 7:10 p.m. (NOW I'm purposely keeping track of the time) to tell us that it will be a few more minutes. When we asked if there was a problem and if it was going to be much longer then we needed to just take our meals to go, the waitress got snippy and said "I told you it's coming right now." We did not get our meals until 7:15 p.m! Waiting 45 minutes for food is RIDICULOUS. I could understand if the restaurant was full of people or if there was a huge party, but it wasn't. We were one of five tables. I ordered a panzerotti which came to me all soggy like it had been made and then sat while the other two meals were made. I would've asked for it to be made again, but I didn't want to wait another 45 minutes. By that time, we're hungry, my daughter is done eating, bored and now fussing. I reluctantly take a few bites of my meal and then take her outside so not to disrupt everyone else. I came back awhile after to bring my wallet in for my spouse to pay the bill and my mother in law informs me that they asked for take out containers and the bill 10 minutes beforehand. I go back outside wait another 10 minutes, go back inside to check and then we had boxes but no bill. We did not finally leave until 7:50 p.m. We received HORRIBLE service from this place which is sad and very disappointing because it used to be our favorite. After our visit last night, it might...
Read moreLet me preface this review with the fact that I would have never posted publicly about this situation if management had handled this situation differently. A very close friend of mine and I decided to go to dinner here like we have many, many times in the past with no major issues. The server (Maddie) was amazing, like always. As we were eating our entrees, I noticed a dead bug in my meal. I pulled it to the side of my plate and waved my server over to our table. I subtly informed her of the situation, making sure other patrons weren’t alarmed by the terrible mishap. Upon returning to our table, it was stated that my meal would be taken care of since I did not want a replacement. Needless to say, my friend also lost her appetite and decided she no longer wanted her food in fear that she would have to “investigate” it before consuming. When our server relayed that message to the owner’s son, the response was, “since there was technically nothing wrong with her food, there’s nothing that can be done despite her not eating it.” Maddie informed us that the owner could be contacted if we weren’t satisfied and it wasn’t until we stated that we have photo proof of the bug in the food that we were told the entire bill (approximately $60) would be taken care of. The owner’s son finally approached us after about 20 minutes and stated in the most casual, nonchalant way, “Don’t worry about it, hun. Don’t worry about it. It’s taken care of." Then just walked away. Not an apology, not an explanation, not anything. Extremely unprofessional and honestly a horrible way to conduct business. The only apologies received were from our server and from a bus boy. We absolutely tipped our server very well despite us not paying for anything, but we also expected some sort of apology from the management staff which we never received. The only reason I will never return or recommend this establishment to anyone is because of the poor handling of the situation. I feel that as soon as he was made aware of the situation, the manager should have approached us and had a conversation about what happened. I am a very forgiving and understanding person, but the fact that I never received any type of apology and instead a “don’t worry about it, hun” was enough to make me never...
Read moreFirst time trying this place. My dinner was pretty good, however my husband said his meal had no flavor. We would be tempted to try again if the service and wait times were better - even though the place was not busy at all. There was one other table when we got there and during our wait another three tables were seated. The meals did not come out at the same time, a good 5 minutes before the second meal came out so planning could have been better. Our server was pleasant, however she wasn't very attentive - the other two servers seemed to be much quicker and observant. Ours questioned my husband twice about his meal choice, as though she didn't understand what polenta was. She did eventually ask if the meals were okay but did not check on drinks. I had to request more water with the empty glass sitting in front of me. When it came time for asking about coffee & dessert, she took my order (she didn't even know what it was and had to look at the menu) and walked away without giving my husband a chance to give his order. She came back in a bit with my dessert and my husband then told her he wanted coffee and cheesecake. She finally came back with the coffee and said the cheesecake would be right out. Meanwhile she took another order, chatted with the staff standing behind the counter and prepared salads for another table (we noticed she was putting the croutons on salads with her hands - no gloves). Hubby was getting a bit annoyed and didn't even want his dessert anymore. Eventually we saw her walk over to the dessert display, take out a dessert and walk back to the kitchen. She came out a few minutes later with the same cheesecake she just got out of the display. I had been waiting to eat my dessert until he got his... We finished our desserts and had to wait for her to stop chatting with the people behind the counter - again- and motion that we would like the check. The pre-made desserts (still had the dividing papers on them) were $9 and $13 - not worth the cost. Hubby said he was crossing Martino's off our list and...
