Stewart's Drive-In — Restaurant in Vineland

Worst experience had tonight! My husband and I have been going to Stewarts for years and we never experienced what we did tonight. We pulled up and ordered right away. The server was short with us but I showed her grace and let it go. As we were waiting 2 other cars pulled up ordered and their food was delivered within 10 mins. Meanwhile, we have been waiting for 20 mins. I turn on my lights and the server that waited on us kept looking at the wall as she passed by, ignoring us waiting she then proceeds to walk by again I had to beep the horn and yell excuse me for her to pay attention. While other servers ignored the lights aswell. We asked her why the other 2 cars have ordered ate and left and we still hadn't received our food. She was not apologetic at all. She just said passively "Oh that's weird, let me check what happened. She went to the kitchen. It looked like there was a conversation had then she came back out and walked the opposite direction to the other side. She did not come back and follow up with us what was going on an how much longer we would have to wait. We decided to leave as we felt uncomfortable at that point. She could care less. It's ashame my family and I have to experience that kind of treatment! It ruined our night! This experience has definitely left a bad taste our my mouths. We will not return and if anyone asks where to eat in Vineland. Stewarts will no longer be...

Today I was out with my son running errands. We were passing by Stewart's and had some extra time, so we stopped for a bite to eat for lunch. He had never been to Stewart's, so he was excited. I had told him about the fantastic root beer that Stewart's is famous for, and how they serve it in chilled mugs; he was looking forward to it. The waitress took our order, and she was nice enough. As we waited for our order, we saw others getting their milkshakes and root beer floats and root beers in chilled mugs. However, when our root beer arrived, it was served to us in plastic cups with lids and straws. My initial thought was that we could have gotten that at any fast food place. We asked and were told that they "ran out" of mugs. However, it seemed like everyone else had mugs. All in all, the cheeseburgers were tasty; the french fries were crispy (although they were small portions for each of us), and the root beer tasted ok, but it's not really Stewart's famous root beer when you have to drink it from a plastic cup. I know it may sound petty, but it's not the same. If I had been by myself, it would not have been so bad, but since my son was with me, I felt like he missed out. This is part of the "atmosphere" that one pays for (plus tip). We left rather...

We didn't go all last year so we were waiting for the place to open this season to enjoy. We went two weeks ago, food was good but pricey for what you get.

Last night we decided to just grab a burger and cheesesteak, no fries or shakes to keep the costs and calories low. We tried their website, couldn't order there. Started ordering on a service Google recommended with no fees but then decided to just call and run over. The young lady who brought us our food to the car told us it was about $24 and when we gave her $40 she tried to short us on the change and run off. We called her back, told her it's actually $15 so she handed us more money and again ran away. We left and only noticed later she still didn't give us the correct amount. And I still had the online order on my phone and she charged us more than she should have to start! So much for using cash to avoid fees... And to think my husband was looking for singles in the car to give a tip before we even got there.

So trashy. And she actually had a cross tattooed on her forearm - guess she doesn't know what that symbol means. We won't be back. Plenty of places in South Jersey for this kind of food, good or better than here, certainly cheaper where people aren't trying to...
