Famous Uncle Al's Dog House — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

Young lady who works there is very nice and accommodating. Chili and hot dog were cold and fries tasted burnt. Worst part that is an absolute flaw of this place.... Its dirty and the nice young lady who gets you your drinks, makes your food and does all of the prep work DOES NOT WASH HER HANDS OR WEAR GLOVES! I watched her touch the screen to cash out a customer, take money from the customer, grab fries with her hands out of the bag to put in the fry basket, grab the bun for the hot dog, pick up something off the floor twice, touch a knife for prepping vegetables, touch an onion, touch a tomato, grab bacon with her bare hands, grab a hot dog and put it on the grill with her bare hands, grab an ice scoop, pull her hair back and touch many other things throughout the store without washing her hands once. The salt and pepper shakers, ketchup and mustard bottles and malt vinegar bottles are all sticky and never been wiped off. The oil for the fries were smoking because the oil has probably never been changed and the vents above the grill and fries were filthy. Not to mention that the floors behind the counter and in the dining area look like they have never been scrubbed. Please food safety and sanitation are not a priority here and absolutely should be obviously and I hope the health department comes to pay you all a visit and at least help you get back up to standards. I love this place however today they let me down. I ordered lunch to go. Got in my car starting eating a long string of blonde hair in my food. My hair is cold black. My cook has long blonde hair. I called and explained to them what happened. They didn't say come back we'll fix this. They simply said ok we'll let management know. You just lost a faithful customer. I don't like the way they handled me. They made me feel like they didn't care. I love them too. Part 2 so I went back the owner yelling not talking yelling how could you give me 1star? She said my helper offered you a solution and you said No. Well I didn't hear the solution all I heard was the young lady say I'll tell management. Anyways the owner was so unprofessional I wanted to slap the $hit out her for hollering and disrespecting me but I'm a changed woman. You can have good food and bad customer service. Didn't refund my. Made me another hair burger and fries. In the trash. I can't. Never again. Part 3. For the record. I love famous Als I've been going there for years. Great food. Great atmosphere. I would like to not reflect negative energy towards this establishment because they're awesome. Today was just not a good day for me. I can’t speak for the all the food but my husband and I decided we wanted to have a “cheat day” and ordered a simple order of Chili Cheese Fries. We DoorDash two orders of the fries. These folks sent over a bundle of fries with 2oz cups of cheese and chili. One for each fry! The amount they sent could barely cover up one fry and that’s using both cheese and chili cups!

My husband calls to see how they might be able to fix this obvious rip off and all the “owner” did was try and defend the action by claiming that they always serve a two once cup of cheese and chili… This was clearly a bold face lie seeing as how if ANYONE is dinning in there is no way in the world you would hand someone a plat of fries with a spoon full of chilli and cheese on it!

Needless to say she just defended the choice to rip people off and did absolutely nothing to fix the issue! Money waisted as well as a much deserved cheat day! If the other food is good we’ll never know because we will not be returning! Thanks...
