Received a very fast delivery of our Doordash order made on a Monday night around 7:35pm. Food arrived in less than 30 minutes. If you live in or around VB you know lots of restaurants are closed on Mondays. We wish this place had been closed so we couldn't order! Yes, not a good first experience. Nearing six decades old and never before this meal did I ever have to remove unchewable bits from way too many bites of every single roll (4). Must have been a bad night for them. We got the Sunset, Ninja Roll, Spicy Yellowtail, Yama Salad. The salad is iceburg lettuce, 2 slices of cucumber and peanut sauce for $3.25. Unattractive! Do not order! I'd rather stuff a stripper's dollar bills into my mouth. You really shouldn't leave the tails on shrimp embedded inside a roll! Some chewy, foul-textured fish in one roll left us avoiding it after we each ate one piece.
Not eating their food ever again.
Edit: After seeing the owner's reply, I just wanted to add, "Whatever happened to the customer is always right?!" How about attempting to win back my business instead of being entirely dismissive of warranted criticism? Never said anything was overpriced. Read moreThis is my usual go to for sushi close and quick since it is right across the street from me and it’s always good and the service is great. But tonight was a different experience. I have been here dozens of times over the last 2 years since I’ve lived here and this is a first. But it was significant enough that I am writing about it. I arrived at 850pm and they close at 930pm Friday nights. Upon sitting the server tells me we close in about 30 min and I said okay I know that and I know what I want: I ordered and my rolls came out to me within 5 min, no sauce on them, none of the usual and could tell it was obviously not freshly made as usual. I ordered a glass of wine and was brought that back, no offer of water at all. Then I was delivered my check with nothing asked if I needed anything etc. Needless to say, she did not get a good tip and honestly didn’t deserve one at all. I was in and out in 20 min tops. Arrived home before they were even closed at 920pm. This is not how you treat customers that walk in to your restaurant just because it’s 30 min before closing. I will not be returning. I used to bring 6+ people in for lunch on a regular basis(I have since switched jobs and no longer work close enough to eat lunch there. We would call our orders in ahead of time and the staff would have a table and waters waiting for us. They even remembered little details, and started placing lemons and extra Siracha on the table ahead of time because they knew our group always asked for those.
I’ve had mutiple birthday dinners there, one of which, my friends were completely embarrassing, doing saki bombs, being loud, and spilling beer everywhere. The staff was so understanding and sweet, cleaning up around us like there was no problem. I was so apologetic but they didn’t even bat an eye over it.
