Holiday Food Mart — Restaurant in Virginia Beach

I have been here once or twice, and will not be coming back. 2 of my neighbor girls (one is 8 and the other 12) saw me washing my car and came over to help. I went to my bank to pull out $20 so I could give them 10 bucks each. The $20 bill I got FROM THE BANK ATM was an older style bill. Because the lowest obtainable bill from the ATM is a 20, I stopped here to have it split into 2 10's. The man looked at it, looked at me, looked back down and handed it back telling me, "I cant accept this bill, it doesn't look real." I argued that it's just an older style bill (which he should've known anyway since he looked about 40 and even I've seen them before and I'm only 18). I clearly saw the pen which he was fully capable of using and didn't. He refused my service and asked me to leave for MATURELY and RESPECTFULLY arguing with him. So I went to 7 eleven and had no problem getting my 10's from smarter, polite...

Shoutout to these lovely people who made sure to stay open this evening past their normal hours, as long as they had gas during this unexpected shortage, in case anyone needed to prepay for gas or had a problem with the pumps. On top of that, a very kind woman was outside directing traffic and explaining what was going on. Truly lovely example of a small business at work in our local community, and I will absolutely remember this in the future and will go out of my way to give them my business in the future. I appreciate their consideration in staying open, but especially in their management of both the situation and my expectations. Sincerely, thank you.

Went last night on the way back from Ocean Breeze. I was shocked at how EXTREMELY friendly the men running the place were. I could see the kitchen was spotless. We checked out the menu and the prices for what was ordered was fair I thought, until we got our food and once again, I was shocked at how much food we got for that price. I got 2 huge piping hot pieces of fried chicken, homestyle potato wedges and a roll for 5.99 and my friend got the philly cheese steak and mac/cheese. The chicken was cooked to perfection and of course I had to try the philly steak and it was great too! This will be a definite stop next time...
