Nature trails, suspension bridges, tree house play area and giant, metal slide. Views of Owl Creek water body...very close to Ocean Breeze waterpark (you can hear the music from their park). The parking is $5 during VB tourist season (April-Oct) in the South aquarium parking lot. Pictures can't really do the scenery justice. The only potential issues I saw would be for people with limited mobility, using wheelchairs or certain strollers. There were many uneven surfaces, the entire tower floor is grates and the suspension bridges had narrow portions. I did include these pics on here, so someone can plan accordingly. If you want to leave the tower for any reason, you would have to walk down a spiral, metal staircase. This may be difficult for some to get down. The slide was not open at this time, but shows promise in being a fun twist on something that may feel nostalgic to those who grew up with metal slides at the playgrounds! Cost is $28 for ages 14+ $18 for ages 10-13 $13 for ages 3-9. This pricing structure now includes the slide. I really appreciated the community day to get a glimpse of this new attraction and look forward to...
Read moreWe were really excited to visit Owl Creek Landing, especially for the tower slide, which was the main draw for our family. Unfortunately, we did not clearly see the age (7+) and height (4.5 ft+) restrictions on the website when purchasing tickets. We only learned about them in the email confirmation after purchase.
This was frustrating, as we had planned to take our 4-year-old down the slide with us, only to find out after paying full price that she couldn’t enjoy the park’s signature feature. At the very least, a lower admission price for younger children who can’t use the slide and a clearer warning before checkout would help families avoid disappointment.
That said, I don’t want to overlook the positives: the children’s play area was amazing, the tree walk was beautiful, the tower was fun, and the staff were excellent. If it weren’t for the slide issue, this really would have been an amazing experience.
Families with kids under 7 or under 4.5 ft — be warned about the slide restrictions...
Read moreThis trail is located on the far outskirts of the VA Aquarium adjacent to Ocean Breeze Waterpark. The trail walks over a bridge to the far side of the wooded marshland area. The area includes a vertical structural trail connected to treetop trail that loops throughout the woods.
The trail also includes a soon to be added on slide that goes from the top to the bottom of the slide tower. The structural tower is very secure and is wheelchair accessible. The treetop trails are fun but are quite loose in areas meaning they will swing quite a bit.
The staircase to get off the trail is quite narrow and would recommend bringing a water bottle when visiting on warm days. A nice adventure to explore the...
