Take my 5 stars!
Very first time coming here. I had been wanting to bring my 3 kids here for a long time. So we finally went yesterday.
Our visit was during their Glow in the Park event. It delivered beyond what I could have imagined.
We purchased tickets and completed waivers online. So when we got there we parked and walked right in to the store/registration area. The rep at the counter was super nice and helpful. I was the only one who didn’t do a waiver online so I had to do it on the computer when I got there. Don’t worry, super simple and quick. If you didn’t bring gloves, you can purchase some here. We didn’t bring or buy gloves and our hands weren’t too rough at the end of the night.
After checking in, we were directed to the pre-climb meeting area. Here we watched a short video which was very informative and we’re instructed on how to put on our climbing rigs and how to operate the equipment when climbing. One of the amazing parts about this is that they made the instructions very simple and easy to understand. Plus, after they show you how to use the equipment and put on the climbing rig, they take you to a small practice area where you get to tryout the operations you’ll be doing once you’re up in the trees.
There’s so much more I can say but don’t want to be too long winded!
After directions, instructions, and practice, you’re ready to climb! So you head on over to the central platform! This is where every climb begins (the engineering and design of this park is remarkable). There are varying levels of difficulty for the climbs ranging from purple (young kids mainly) all the way up to double black diamond. Because we had children with us, we weren’t able to go past blue difficult (even though blue had some questionable and pretty difficult obstacles lol).
Not only were the climbs long in duration (some up to an hour long) but they included amazing obstacles and zip lines! The children absolutely loved it. I believe, I think, we were only supposed to be climbing for an hour but somehow we ended up climbing for 3! Not sure if this was because the park wasn’t that busy or what, but thank you!!!
One of the things I loved about this place is that the employees didn’t smother you with over-supervision or excessive rules. They taught you what you needed to know and let you go! Love that and thank you!
If you’re looking for a place to get your kids outside, get them some exercise, build character through navigating obstacles, overcoming fear and challenges, fun lights in the trees at dark!, this is the place!
We’re definitely considering the season pass!
Sorry, no pics because it wasn’t a great place to have a...
Read moreWe did Glow in the Park on a Sat night in August. The staff mentioned that it was one of the busiest nights they'd ever had. You would never have known though because the experience was excellent. The staff was quick, efficient and highly competent. They repeatedly apologized for the delay in getting everyone harnessed up, but we were all harnessed within 5 minutes of finishing the safety briefing. I can't see how it could have been faster. I think the staff here just have very high standards for service.
This park takes safety very seriously. They use an innovative harness with clips that lock to the course itself. You have two leads and one is locked as soon as you step onto the course and one stays locked at all times, making it physically impossible to fall off. You progress by changing which one is locked and moving the unlocked lead to the next step. It sounds a little complicated but it's pretty easy after the first 5 minutes.
The park itself was awesome. There truly are trails for all levels. We started out on a yellow trail which was pretty easy and only at a height of maybe 10 feet. Perfect for young children or new climbers. We went on to do 2 green trails that were longer, higher and more physically challenging. We finished our day with a blue trail that I found moderately challenging. There are 3 levels above that one for people looking for a serious challenge. I'm not sure I'll ever be ready for the double black diamond level.
The courses involve navigating suspended pathways some with slight obstacles. Think of a plank bridge suspended by cables, perhaps with posts in the middle to navigate around. Every course we went on had at least one zipline.
There are staff all over the place, constantly walking the ground in case someone needs help.
This was a great time and we'll definitely go...
Read moreThis is a large challenging aerial adventure park with rewards of ziplines. I found a great half off all-day special price thru Groupon. In hindsight, I drew on previous zipline park experiences. I was not expecting such tough obstacles and challenges. Think America's Ninja Warriors. I wish there were more options of just ziplining without obstacles. I probably should have done more research. I'm in my 50s and moderately healthy. This adventure is exclusive to physical endurance and stamina. The park caters to all ages with different difficulty levels, but active kids will definitely have the most fun here. This park is clean and well maintained. Each course is self guided, and you are safely locked in. Staff is always a yell away. The initial online scheduling and rescheduling were easy and convenient. We changed our day due to rain. You are able to sign off on the waivers online before your trip to the park. Once you check in, you watch a safety video and then harness up. There's a small practice course demonstrating all harness clips and practices. The tree canopy is enchanting. We brought our own gloves, tho you can purchase some when you check in. Even with the all-day pass, you probably will not be able to try every course. I think I spent too much time on the easiest courses. I should have done a couple of all the different colors. I really enjoyed the Green Grand Rapids. It had the highest platform and 5 ziplines. That inevitably led me to try the Black Storm recommended by staff. You really have to work to get to the ziplines, but it has the longest zip over a creek. That was my grand finale and exhausted any energy I had left in me. Just say I had to use muscles I forgot I had. Overall fun experience. This is definitely a great bonding opportunity for...
