We have been here several times and had a great experience, but this most recent time was very disappointing. We had a party of 30 people, all family members getting together for a beach vacation. A week in advance, I reserved 4 cabanas by the wave pool as well as meal vouchers for everyone. Even though the weather was rainy and cold, we still went. We had spent a ton of money and it was non refundable (we live out of town so we could not change dates) plus we figured the kids would still have a good time. So the park was maybe 1/4 full but somehow we got worse service than we have ever had. They gave us one server for 4 cabanas- one server to get all our food orders and all our cocktails. And it’s not like they didn’t know we were coming. The restrooms were disgusting as soon as we got to the park- dirty, smelled bad, soap dispenser empty, paper towel dispenser empty, and hand sanitizer empty! When I asked the person in charge of cabanas if they could take care of it, they said the person who does that was not around. I kind of expected it to be clean when I first came into the park- do they not clean it at the end of each day? The lifeguards were horrible in every sense. First, they were grossly inattentive. My daughter (who is a good swimmer but had trouble fighting the waves and getting up the ladder) almost drowned in the wave pool right in front of a lifeguard! And there were only a handful of people in the wave pool! She came out crying hysterically. And then, my adult male cousin lost hold of his 4 year old son on one of the double tube rides. The 4 yr old fell off at the end and both of them were tumbling in the water. The 4 yr old had a vest on but still, the lifeguard could see he was struggling to get to the stairs and that the adult was struggling to get to the child but just sat like a bump on a log never even asking if he needed help! And like I said, not busy! And they have walky-talkies so the lifeguards up above can communicate with them. Also, the lifeguards were almost all rude and lazy and acted like they hated their jobs. We had a few teens with us (14 yr olds) who went ahead of the adults on a few rides. The lifeguards didn’t know we were together and so they thought they could treat them rudely. Mind you, the lifeguards were not that much older (probably 18 years old), but they sure wanted to show their authority. For the amount of money we spent that day on tickets, cabanas, food, & alcohol, I’m so disappointed in the experience we got. We used to have so much fun here and were really excited for another fun trip. This place has really...
Read moreI grew up in and around ocean breeze. Never ever do I remember stepping on a scale before going on a ride. I have not even gotten on a scale since I had a dr appt four months prior. I climbed what was at the least a four story flight of stairs. As I get to the top, the ride conductor starts asking everyone our weight, and we start stepping on a scale to see who and when we can ride together. So 250 pounds is max solo weight to be able to ride, 400 for a double tube ride and one ride for up to four people with a max weight of 700 pounds, which means a lot of grown families can not ride together. Anyway, I was suddenly a little worried because I was around 270 at Dr. Appointment 4 months prior. I hoped on the scale and a little light on top turned green or red, which green meant I was good. There was a little box next to it, I asked my son to see what it said, and he replied, "You are 246." I sighed and said "dang I lost 20 something pounds." Otherwise, I would have been embarrassed and not able to ride the watertube rides. I have always been a little overweight, stocky, 6'1 guy. But for a moment, I thought because of my weight, I was not gonna be able to have fun with my boys because I was overweight. I quickly realized that damn a lot of people must be turned down because of this. As the day went on, I had talked with several employees and lifeguards about it. If you are over 250, meaning you weigh 251 pounds, they have to inform you that you are overweight and will not be able to ride solo, but if you are over and you ride with someone else and your combined for a tube rider is not over 400 pounds your allowed to ride. I was told it was for safety reasons, and I really do not understand it all, but I was thankful I was lucky enough to be able to enjoy the rides with my boys. There are other rides with no weight limits, just height requirements, and they are still fun. But if you want to ride the tubes, I would suggest knowing your weight and your kids' weight before getting embarrassed. The food left me unimpressed, I had some from everywhere because no one likes the same things. The fries are good throughout. Burgers, ok, tacos ok, cheesesteak was good. Ice-cream is well ice-cream. Funnel cakes are well delicious anywhere. I checked to see if they still had the rock candy from the nineties, and sadly, they didn't as far as I could see. But overall, I had a great day and created a lot of memories with my boys. Will definitely go back, but now I gotta watch my weight. I like...
Read moreThis place is a local monopoly and they know it. We paid out the wahoo for a 6 person cabana. Paid again for the meal packages. Then come to find out they've implemented some ridiculous weight restrictions. We couldn't access half the rides. Even the family rides made no sense. 2 of us weighed 510 lbs and the weight limit was over 700 lbs but because both of us were over 250 we couldn't go. Then to make things even more hilarious, they legit make you step on a scale before you get on the ride. The scale has huge blinking lights. Red means you can't go, green means you can. My youngest son is 6 ft 6, weighs in at 254 and they wouldn't let him ride anything. The food is terrible. The pizza was absolutely disgusting. I've never had pizza that bad anywhere. The tacos were a joke. The chicken wraps shouldn't be called chicken wraps. They should call them romaine wraps. The best part about the meal deal is the cold water. The lazy river wasn't even lazy. It was filled with idiots splashing people, throwing balls, knocking people over and throwing the flotation devices around. The wave pool is where the kids go to pee. After 4 hours and hundreds of dollars later, the highlight of the entire day was the cabana had a TV and cold water. The entire day was an absolute loss. Loss of money and time. The heartburn and constipation lasted longer than the actual trip there. Here's the best part. The people in the cabana next to us weren't even supposed to be in a cabana. The lady said she waited until after 2 to see which cabanas weren't occupied and then moved her families stuff into an abandoned cabana. She got the same size cabana we paid for, for free. Each cabana comes with 2 beach chairs that sit outside and she actually came over and took one of ours because they wanted to lay out and tan. Then had the nerve to give me attitude when I asked for it back when we got back to the cabana we paid for. At no point did the staff ask to see their cabana wrist bands. If I wanted to sit in a pissy wave pool with obnoxious trifling kids with no home training, I would've just taken the family to the VB ocean front. At least at the ocean front they have decent food. Between the fat shaming, the chair stealing, the terrible people, and the unbelievably disgusting food, I proudly give this place one star. Will not be back. Do not recommend. Spend your...
