I ordered the vermicelli with chicken and bean halo halo. The lady that took my order entered it completely wrong, she gave me a bag with soup and a bean drink. I told her it’s wrong and she said you didn’t want soup? If I wanted soup I would have specifically ordered soup, but I ordered “vermicelli” as listed on their menu: dry vermicelli with grilled chicken, spring rolls and fresh vegetables. I also mentioned that’s not halo halo and she said we have different bean drinks, but I said I specifically ordered halo halo. Then she had to void that charge and charged me again for the new/correct order. I had to wait there for several minutes again. The older gentleman came out and placed it on the table. No sorry for the mistake. The food was disappointing and so was the halo-halo. There was no cilantro, no egg rolls, and no herbs on the vermicelli. The container was mostly lettuce, soggy noodles and dry chicken. My daughter barely touched her halo-halo and she loves halo-halo and orders every time we go to Red Ribbon or a Filipino restaurant. I told the man that the halo-halo was not good and he said every business has different recipes. But Halo-Halo is a Filipino desert that has condensed milk. Don’t market it as Halo-Halo if it is not. To top it off I was charged twice, so instead of $18 something for 1 vermicelli she charged me twice. She charged me $37 for 1 vermicelli with chicken and halo halo. I called them while I waited for my son’s haircut and they’re very nonchalant. So once again I had to go back to the restaurant due to their mistake. On the phone the lady who entered my order wrong and then overcharged me said it was only a $2 difference. I explained to her it is way more than a $2 difference. She put the manager on phone and was told I can get my refund today or another day. I didn’t want want to go back there again to eat, so I went back for my refund which he did in cash around $18. I was back and forth because of their lack of customer service. The manager/owner gave me a can of soda for the inconvenience.. wow thanks. That lady today was the absolute worst. I worked in restaurants in high school and college, and I’ve never seen anyone make so many mistakes within minutes back to back- and not acknowledging it and apologizing. It wasn’t like there was a language barrier because her English was good and it wasn’t busy where she was overwhelmed, There’s so many other good Vietnamese restaurants in the area, that’s all I...
Read moreAfter seeing all those good reviews, I had a high expectation with this place because we're tried many other Vietnamese restaurants around VB and couldn't find any good places but this place disappointed me agiain because their food is not authentic Vietnamese food.
We ordered the Soft Fresh Spring Roll, Pho Tai (Rare beef noodle soup), and Tom, Bo Nuong (dry noodles mixed with veggies and some seasonings, with beef and shrimp).
The Soft Fresh Spring Roll is oversized which made us having a mess while eating it. The shrimp is cut into half so it looks like each spring roll has 4 shrimp but it actually only has 2 in one. Maybe it's just us but we didn't like the peanut flavor sauce they provide us to dip. Back in Hong Kong the Vietnamese restaurants that are opened by Vietnamese we went only provide fish sauce when we order this spring roll, which the flavors are more matching.
The Pho is totally disappointment. The soup has very little flavor like I could make a more flavorful Pho myself with one of those Pho extract that you can buy from Asian grocery stores. Also, the soup is not hot enough. The beef has no fat in them, the noodles is fine, nothing special. The only thing that's good is they provide us bean sprouts that are very fresh.
The dry noodle one is actually not bad, I can tell they must have put many lemon grass on marinating the beef. The carrots are sour so it's very appetizing. HOWEVER, it is missing the most important thing of all kinds of Bun(the name of this dish), which is the fish sauce. Although the menu said the bun has fish sauce already, I tasted nothing but some lemon grass from the beef. I tried to mix it because sometimes fish sauce is liquid like water but there's really none. We asked the server if qe can get some fish sauce and the "fish sauce" he gave us doesn't taste like fish sauce but sweet and a bit savory.
At the end of the day we decided to bring the bun home and put our own fish sauce that was brought from Fresh Market, and it taste wayyyy better... I assume that the owner of this restaurant is Vietnamese or Chinese(at least he's Asian...) so he should know how authentic Vietnamese should taste like. At least buy the right...
Read moreFor the food I would rate this place a 3 but the service is definitely a 1. So this is my second time getting food from here. The first time my husband picked up the food and i had the pho. It was just ok. Broth wasn’t very flavorful. This second time I ordered through doordash. I ordered the vermicelli noodles with beef and grilled shrimp and fried egg rolls. When I opened my meal, I received vermicelli with beef and no shrimp and no egg rolls. I called the restaurant to let them know and they asked me to drive back to the restaurant. When I go to the restaurant the manager or cook(?) says that he did in fact put the egg rolls in my original order and that they weren’t missing “but it’s ok, we’re sorry.” When the doordash worker gave me the food, it was stapled shut. So according to the manger, either I’m lying just so I can get some free egg rolls or the doordasher took the egg rolls and used a stapler to staple the bag, then gave me my food. Honestly I would have given this place another chance but that interaction was off putting. So I’ll find another Vietnamese restaurant to order from now on. Also, in the end, the vermicelli dish and egg rolls were just ok. Not worth all...
