Let me preface by saying that I love Pizza Hut's food. I love the pizza, the breadsticks, and the wings are simply to die for. That being said, I have a less positive story to share from earlier this very evening. It all began with my wife and me wondering what to have for dinner. “How about pizza?” she said, to which I replied, “That sounds FANTASTIC. I love you”. So we used Pizza Hut’s online ordering system, which was very user friendly. After sending the order, we waited with baited breath. About half an hour later, there was a wrapping at the door. “Who could it be, but the man with the pizza?!” I exclaimed. I opened the door in anticipation of having a friendly exchange with the delivery person, followed by a delicious Italian-American feast. Unfortunately, what happened next defied expectation. When I opened the door, I was greeted by silence and a blank stare from the man in front of me. “Um, hi,” I said, uncertain who was intended to break the silence. He silently handed me a receipt, which I signed, leaving him a tip (in retrospect, a mistake). He silently reached into his giant oven mitt pizza bag. “Oh yeah, now we’re talking,” I thought to myself. He handed me its contents and murmured something like, “have a good night,” before moseying back to his car. A little perturbed, but too excited for pizza to notice, I shut the door and turned inside. My wife immediately noticed something had gone very wrong. “Where are the breadsticks?” she asked. I then noticed the lack of delicious Pizza Hut breadsticks myself, and quickly set the pizza down and dashed out the front door. The somewhat unapproachable man was still in front of my house. I waved as if to say, “excuse me, something’s not quite right “. He hesitated, but eventually rolled down his window. “Excuse me, but we ordered breadsticks”. I was again acquainted with the blank stare I had seen a minute earlier. After a moment he, silently again, reached into his pocket and pulled out a receipt. After reading it for a moment, he uttered the most words I have heard from him before or since, “I can take it off the order if you want”. Confused and slightly agitated at this point, I told him, “No, I’d like the breadsticks”. A sigh of resentment escaped the man, as he came to terms with what was going to have to happen next. “Okay, be right back”. Fast-forward thirty minutes, the pizza has been in the oven on low heat, as I was unwilling to enjoy pizza and breadsticks separately. Suddenly, another wrapping came at the door. “Oh my stars!” I thought, “It must be the breadsticks!” Instead of the sullen person I had seen previously, I was greeted by a jovial man. “Hi!” he said. I smiled, here was a man who knew how to deliver pizza and related products. “Hi!” I greeted back, as the exchange took place. “Have a good one!” he said cheerfully as he dashed off to spread more joy. “Thank you!” I called after him. Predictably, all the food was delicious. However, I believe I shant be ordering from this Pizza Hut again, in light of the service I received from the former delivery man...
Read moreI ordered delivery online. Redeemed my pizza points and got free bread sticks. Pizza got here in a timely fashion but the driver forgot the breadsticks and the receipt. So I called immediately and they said no problem driver will be right back with your breadsticks and receipt. Went to open the pizza and my thin crust was a hand tossed. So I had to call back. The guy said I thought the pizza was coming out with the breadsticks I saw that it was never sent out initially. He said when the breadsticks come the driver will have to come back for the pizza. I said ok. Then they called me back. Said in order to get the new pizza I have to send the wrong pizza back. I said that’s fine and waited for the new correct pizza to come. And waited. And waited. An hour later I called back and was asked to hold but before I could answer the phone was just put down. I told her I was very upset she said that I was supposed to send the handtossed pizza back with the driver who brought the breadsticks. The driver wasn’t aware and I wasn’t aware I had to provide proof my order was wrong before getting my pizza. And why when the delivery driver came back without the pizza they weren’t proactive enough to call me back. They knew my pizza never got sent out so proof shouldn’t have been needed. This is not how you should conduct your business or treat your customers. Dominos is now our go to pizza place. They always get our...
