Update: They must have changed out the cook, because they are back on their game and the food is great. Changed 2 stars to 4, and if the food was fresher (typical Chinese supply items), it would be 5.

Been eating here for almost 17 years, and it "was" the best place in town, plus very reasonable. After coming back from a 3 yr. overseas tour last year I could not wait to order the General's chicken, and, wow, something has happened, not for the good. Now to be fair, we have been coming here for a very long time, and they have had off nights in the past, but for the past year it has been getting progressively worse. It seems like they are overcooking everything. The egg rolls are mushy inside like they have freezer burn, the General's chicken is overly breaded and cooked to a teeth breaking CRUNCH. Tonight was the last straw when we ordered shrimp rolls, and my wife pointed out that they looked burnt, and the very nice lady (service is still top notch) said no they are soft inside. Yes they were soft, but the outside was burnt and hard.

We had such a long history of fantastic meals (over 17 years), and it was that history that kept us from giving up for a year, and not giving them 1 star, but now it is time to find another place. If they fire the current cook, and get back on track, we...

I’ve been to this restaurant multiple times because the food was good and for a decent price but the customer service is terrible!! The boy behind the counter is rude as hell and for no reason. I could bypass it most days but tonight was so bad that I refuse to go back there now. I was craving some general tsou chicken and my mom always gets the Singapore chow mei fun, when I placed my order the rude boy behind the counter looked annoyed to be getting customers (already a red flag) and read my order back as general tsou and pork pancit. When I corrected him, he got really short with me and said it was the same thing (and it wasn’t). Singapore chow mei fun has shrimp, chicken, pork, rice noodles and veggies and curry. I’ve been eating Chinese food all my life and my mother and I have both eaten that specific food item there before. But no, he was arrogant and thought he knew better so I got what I didn’t order cuz some punk kid rang me up for the wrong food because he wanted to act like he knew better than me. Absolutely unbelievable. I called to complain and he further argued with me; couldn’t even own up to his arrogance. The food in the end wasn’t that great— the general tsou sauce was really runny. I would like to give a 5 star, I visit each Chinese restraint which are many here in Virginia Beach, the egg roll broke the camels back and if they improve that I will add a 5th star. I always order Genral Tso Chicken and Chicken fried rice. If that goes well then I come back and order Mongolian beef, fried vegetable noodles and spring roll. I usually start a restraint at 5 stars, if each meal is missing so.ething a star is taken away. The place is clean! Tables are clean and the people are polite but like all chinese people they are direct and to the point! Never deduct a star because how they where raised that's just racist!
