I have had the pleasure of going to this restaurant 3 times now. Unfortunately the first time was the best but the other times were still good enough for me to keep going back. I really loved the shrimp poboy the first time we went. The 3rd time however it just didn’t have as much sauce or seasoning so it wasn’t quite as good. I wish there was another side option than chips but I can’t complain with just how good this is for such a simple and popular restaurant. I have also tried their pizza which I enjoyed quite a bit. Really want to try shrimp on a pizza now after seeing it there. I also tried their Crab Legs. The flavor was very good but I wouldn’t get it again. Slightly over cooked which makes them stick to the shell and become a lot harder to remove and eat. 1 pound may sound like a lot but I was still so hungry that on my drive home I stopped at a drive thru for some fast food. All in it’s a great restaurant and we love that it’s dog friendly. But they recently reduced the areas you can eat with your dog and on the very visit when they told me of this change there was another patron sitting at one of the tables where we were just told we couldn’t sit. To make it worse his dog was on top of the table. It’s totally not okay to have a dog sitting on top of a table where people eat or to let certain people or dogs sit in the no dog zone. This happened at about 3pm on a Monday with lots of open seating.

Great concept, great service, Okay ish food wouldn't get the Tacos again. We only came because our friend said the tacos were good! And it was convenient they are a pet friendly restaurant on the water. The service was excellent and pretty quick for how busy it was. -8$ MIMOSAS on Sunday is such a deal and I'm here for it! We had the mango mimosa(I'd get again) and the Original. There was just enough of All the components to be delicious and not over powered with alcohol or just taste like juice. -the CRAB 🦀 DIP was very good! With big chunks throughout the bowl. I needed to order another set of Pita bread (that was 4$) to finish it off. We only went through half with how many was given in the first place. -FISH TACOS should of been called Fish Puree' tacos. They had little to no seasoning and we ordered them on corn Tortillas but they need to double up on the Tortillas like normal taco shops. We were forced to eat Deconstructed tacos with one lift of the taco lol. -CHICKEN TACOS the chicken didn't taste fresh and tasted like it was the pre made stuff in a bag with lettuce and an onion, and tomato salsa on a flour tortilla. With no seasoning. The Tacos were over priced for the quality and flavor. Wouldn't buy those again. Would go back for the mimosas and the view. The view is pretty much what your paying for there.

AVOID THIS PLACE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A NICE RESTAURANT AND GOOD FOOD. IT IS NOT A RESTAURANT AS THEY MARKET IT! IT IS A MODEST BAR WITH AMAZING OCEAN VIEW AND TERRIBLE MEALS. We were 3 persons, we ordered taco fish and pizza. The tortillas came very dry it broke into pieces as soon as we touched it! They were literally filled up with onion, cabbage and old smelling tomato!! Out of 6 tacos, four had no fish at all and two had a tiny slice of fried old piece of fish!!! The so called pizza was but a large piece of dough with tomato sauce spread on top! The whole meals were a joke that cost us $88! I WOULD GIVE ZERO FOR THE TIME AND MONEY AND HEALTH WASTED ON OLD MEALS AND CERTAINLY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. I consider serving customers old food knowing that it is old is a complete disrespect and negligence. Let alone serving the food in paper disposable dishes (see the picture)! COULD ANY DECENT RESTAURANT THAT RESPECTS CUSTOMERS DO THAT??? BIG BIG REGRET

The view is nice, but you can get the same view (if not better) at at least four other restaurants on Shore drive. Tonight was the worst service I have ever received in my life. I am a server, so I’m usually pretty understanding and forgiving, as I know what they are going through. However, this was unacceptable. The first server to approach us, because you will have multiple servers taking care of you, was very short and rude. No introductions, just “what do you want to drink”. It took us flagging a server down roughly 15 minutes to place an order. Which then took 45+ minutes to receive the food. When our food arrived, I asked for salt and got the response “I don’t know where the salt is, sorry” I was completely taken aback. And flagged down another server to ask her, no salt ever arrived to the table. Then my friend ordered corn tortillas, because she has an allergy to gluten, and her tacos came out in flour tortillas which she started to eat without realizing. After realizing, she flagged down a server, because after 10 minutes no server had been back to check on us. They immediately brought out the fixed tacos. Which we did not trust to be made again, rather they just took the old and put it in a corn tortilla, which would not be acceptable for an allergy. This assumption was because it took 45+ minutes to get our food, and we bring an error to their attention and within a minute they have new tacos. When my friend asked them to just be taken off the bill, we got the response of “ugh well I rang it in right, so that was the kitchens fault so I don’t know what you want me to do” and I asked “is that really your response?” Which then prompted the server to say “well I’m just going to walk away now” and she left. Then made another server come take care of us. We had tried to get our bill for over 10 minutes, and even after asking for it multiple times, it took us going up to the server station to finally get it. I still cannot believe the level of “service” we received tonight. I hate that this appears to be acceptable at an establishment, and I hope they get this...

I want to start this off by saying we love Back Deck as a bar. This is ranking our experience having an event at Back Deck. We emailed back and forth with their event coordinator for months for our wedding rehearsal. We were under the impression that we had paid for a rental of the whole restaurant because it was never stated otherwise throughout the emails, instead was stated that the area would be closed to the public and would not re-open. We paid $3,000 to have our event there, roughly, $1650 was for food, and we had made an agreement with the event coordinator that the rest of the money would cover a tab for drinks and that would be the end of the tab.

Show up night of, we were put in the back corner of the deck, the smallest side. Some of our family had to be put at a table underneath the stairs away from everyone else. The servers also had to be told there was not enough tables for the amount of guests we had agreed upon. To say the least that was not our expectation for such an important night of our lives. At the end of the night, we were presented with an extra $1500 on top of the $3000 we already paid. We understood there would be sales tax but this was not only tax, this was drinks that the servers continued to put on our tab after our limit was met, which was not what was agreed upon.

We stated we were not happy with how our event was handled, below our expectations to say the least. We were told to reach out to the event coordinator later, we did. Her response was that their system can't do refunds, and that the staff took off $250 that night so that should be enough. I'm disappointed in our favorite bar to say the least. If every thing was explained better in the beginning then there would be nothing for us to be upset about but our experience has left a sour taste. I do not recommend anyone to host an event...
