cool place! indoor and outdoor seating. pretty big menu. coffee was great.
i got a small iced vanilla latte with oatmilk and bailey’s, very tasty. my only gripe is that it seems like very little ice was put in after the fact so it was lukewarm rather than iced. bagel sandwich (i think it was the BEC, bacon egg cheese) was very tasty. it didn’t come cut in half if that matters. was just shy of $30 for everything (sandwhich and coffee) because of the bailey’s in the coffee and a couple substitutions i made. they definitely did not skimp on the bailey’s, and obviously you cant get it to go. my company got the brewrito and just to note, it wasn’t grilled.
one thing to also note is that parking is veryyy limited. American Brew parking is the tiny lots in front and to the side of the building. the lot behind the building and across the road are metered parking that you have to pay for or else you’ll be ticketed by the city. there is no street parking at all. so i highly recommend getting there early or riding a bike over if youre local. unsure of how much metered parking actually is per hour.
but overall, a decent spot. i would recommend if you wanna try...
Read moreThis makes me sad to write this because I’ve been going to American Brew religiously for the last 3 years but over the last couple months things have gone down hill and my visit today (05/18/25) was the final straw. My husband and I order the same thing every time, brewrito with no potatoes. Over the last couple months we’ve never received an accurate order. Some times the avocado is missing, most of the time the salsa is missing, potatoes are in even though we say no potatoes, etc. and it always takes way too long to get your food. Today is took over 40 minutes for our two burritos. And around 35 minutes I went up to ask someone to check on our food because so many people had come and gone and a couple minutes later our food came out and wouldn’t ya know, it was cold (it’s usually almost too hot to eat right away) and it had potatoes in it even though I am very explicit about no potatoes. The avocado in my husband’s burrito was so brown that he tried to remove it but the whole burrito fell apart and he gave up and didn’t eat it. I’m convinced if I didn’t say something we would have never...
Read moreHaving been a customer for some time here, thinking it was a legitimate Patriotic venue due to the American flags and other Americana decor, I thought it was a safe place to discuss our constitutional rights of Free Speech and let a couple people know that there was a supreme court hearing tomorrow in Richmond about the suppression of 5 years of complaints against the VB courts that the gov’t is refusing to produce via FOIA (Freedom of Information Act). The owner decided that she is the authority on who can talk about what in this café and sent out a staff member to tell us that we couldn’t talk about. The people we were talking with were very receptive and had no complaint. We tried to explain to her about ‘Free Speech’ and that this establishment is a ‘Public Accommodation’, but apparently these people are making their own rules. Reminiscent of lockdown days and masks. Makes me sick that they are sacrilegiously using the flag to make money 🙄🇺🇸🙏 Keep praying that our country recovers...
