I recently visited Anant Cuisine of India and I must say, the experience was absolutely delightful. As a British expat, it's always a challenge to find authentic Indian cuisine that reminds us of home, and Anant certainly delivered on that front.
First and foremost, the food was simply beautiful. Each dish was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. The aromatic spices, the perfect balance of heat, and the attention to detail in presentation made every bite a true pleasure. From classic favorites like chicken tikka masala and butter chicken to lesser-known regional specialties, Anant truly captured the essence of Indian cuisine.
But it wasn't just the food that left a lasting impression, it was the overall experience. The staff at Anant were incredibly polite and welcoming. From the moment we entered, we were greeted with warm smiles and made to feel right at home. The waitstaff were knowledgeable about the menu and were more than willing to offer recommendations based on our preferences. Their exceptional service truly elevated our dining experience.
What makes Anant Cuisine of India stand out for us is that it feels like a little slice of home. The ambiance of the restaurant, the friendly banter among the staff, and the familiar aromas that waft through the air create a comforting and nostalgic atmosphere. It truly feels like a home away from home.
In fact, we have become such regulars at Anant that we make it a point to visit at least once, if not twice, a week. The consistency in the quality of food and service is commendable. Even after multiple visits, we are always pleasantly surprised by the attention to detail and the genuine hospitality of the staff.
If you're in search of a truly authentic Indian dining experience, I highly recommend Anant Cuisine of India. Whether you're a lover of Indian cuisine or simply looking to explore new flavors, you won't be disappointed. The food is exceptional, the staff is delightful, and the warm reminders of home make it a truly...
Read moreI sent them an email on Monday about an experience on Sunday. It is now late Wednesday evening and I have yet to hear back. So here's what I sent.
I wanted to reach out regarding an experience at the restaurant. I've been debating whether to post this as a review or as an email. I've seen how tactfully you've handled other less than stellar reviews, so I thought reaching out personally would be best.
Last night we arrived and an older gentleman was the first to notice my group. He stared at us for a bit before approaching. He finally came over and asked if we had a reservation. When we said no, he seemed annoyed and was silent and just stood there glaring at us. A young male server came over and apologized and immediately seated us as there was plenty of room in the dining room. As we walked by the older man he muttered something under his breath and my friend caught him and asked if he had something to say and he just muttered again. It was very uncomfortable.
Throughout the meal he continued to walk past the table glaring at us every few minutes. Once tossing a take out menu on the table, I was unsure if that was a cue for us to order and leave. Then when a friend was reading the wine list he took it away from him before he could select his second glass of wine. The man made it very clear we did not belong there. As three gay men in a relatively liberal city in 2022, we truly hope it wasn't homophobia and just him generally not liking people. But my entire table felt uncomfortable the entire meal because of him
Normally I can look past an experience like this, but the food/service was generally pretty bad. Our server admitted he knew nothing about the wine/beers and was very slow on refills. Our samosas arrived still frigid on the inside, our lamb chops were beyond well done, and our other dishes were just... fine.
I really hope this was an off night for the restaurant and not how you normally operate and...
Read moreI heard great reviews about this restaurant from local friends and went in with my family on Saturday night (11/23/2019) to have some good food. Tandoori Murgh was really Amazing. Kale and crispy spinach munch was full of oil(Better to avoid it).The waiter informed some chef special tonight and my wife had their Lamb Rogan Josh before and it was good. But this waiter informed this Chef special is better than Lamb Rogan Josh so we ordered Kadai Gosht Pasanda.i should say it was pathetic and the worst Choice. The lamb was not cooked at all.informed the waiter the Lamb is not cooked properly and he took the dish inside the kitchen and brought the same dish by re-heating.I am not sure how they can cook a lamb so fast in 2 mins I believe their Chef is expert in cooking lamb in 2 mins. But they got the same dish as it is and it was not cooked.Informed the waiter its still not cooked he didn't said anything about the dish and asked do we need boxes to parcel.I called their manager or the owner to inform about the dish he said 1 sec and he never came and he was watching us leave the restaurant didn't bother to ask why i called him. The worst part is the uncooked lamb is 25$.The owner or the manager at least needs to learn to attend the customer to get their concerns. This is the worst Indian restaurant in Richmond.Big mistake going to this restaurant on special Occasion. While leaving the restaurant wrote better learn how to treat treat your customers or soon will be out of business in the receipt and the worst part the owner read it and didn't bother to ask why i wrote like that that tells how much they...
