I don't know how so many positive reviews from this location have specific names mentioned in them, as I never had any sort of pleasant exchange in my trips in this store.
On poor advice, I took my vintage diamond engagement ring to Jared for a quick ---what I thought--- was a prong tightening. I made an appointment and showed up on time. The woman at the front desk very rudely asked to see my ring and took it away without asking for my name, came back with a back, and slapped in on the counter. Then she looked up my repair request and had an attitude after finding out I had not purchased it through the company. She then said "Oh, so just a shine up?". I politely told her a prong was catching and probably needed some tightening. She took a picture of it, sent it to the repair center, and rang me up.
I went back 3 days later to have it returned with no noticeable change. The same woman was there and would not even look at me. I took my ring and got out of the store as it gave me a terrible feeling in there. I felt it, and it was still catching. I informed the gentleman who gave me my ring back about the issue. He took it to the repair center where I watched them briefly look at it and he returned it back to me saying they had buffed it out. Buffed what out? He seemed annoyed when I wanted to see what 'work' they had done.
It seems that they had shaven the prong down, not tightened it, and said there was nothing more they could do because the prong would become too weak. I can understand that. What I can't understand is why they would agree to do any work at all that wouldn't fix my situation and then do additional damage without consulting me first. I should have asked to speak with someone else, but I was extremely taken aback and went to my car to cry instead.
I got an email today with my 'before and after' pictures. The after now looks like there is a scrape on the top of the diamond as well. They don't even cut stones anymore in the same style. The poorer than poor customer service was insult to injury. I now believe they use their warranty/insurance policies to keep reissuing cheap jewelry when they break those purchased from their stock to keep any sort of customers coming back. This is just...
Read moreWe would like to share our recent experience at the Jareds store at Short Pump Town Center on Broad St. Rd. Richmond, Va. We would like to give an exceptional rating to Lisa and to Maggie. They were both exceptional in their customer service and design. My husband and I came into the store with hopes to have jewelry from family members made into an heirloom piece for our granddaughterâs high school graduation. Lisa welcomed us into the store and was very professional in all of the details and design we were looking for. She introduced us to Maggie who would make the overall design and she far exceeded our expectations when the heart necklace was presented to us. Every detail of the design was exquisite. From two generations we had gold and white gold wedding bands and a diamond to incorporate into a beautiful heart necklace. We brought in a picture of the overall design we were looking for and Maggie was able to make the heart necklace exactly as the picture was shown. Her skill and craftsmanship is exemplary! We will be forever grateful to her for this design and look forward to with excitement and joy presenting this to our granddaughter on her high school graduation. Lisaâs customer service was so refreshing and she listened to all of the details we envisioned for this heirloom piece. Together Lisa and Maggie make a great representation of Jaredâs Jewelers. We give them both a five star rating and we are grateful for all of the time and attention to detail that was shown. Sincerely, Sandra...
Read moreDonât bother taking any jewelry here to be sized. They have ruined my wedding rings. The first time I took my rings in to be sized they came back fine. The last time they ruined them. My wedding band is lopsided, not round, and so thin Iâm scared itâs going to break. I cannot understand why the band came back so thin on the bottom when I was having the ring reduced in size! I have gorgeous rings and now they are awful. I told the person giving my my rings they are lopsided and not round and she said âthatâs how they are supposed to beâ no, they arenât. rings are round not uneven and an unidentifiable shape. Moreover, while I was speaking with the associate a manager ( I presume), a woman with blond hair, went to the jewelers who were sizing rings and started yelling about how sick and tired she was of customers thinking they can get whatever they want and asking for things. I was absolutely amazed that 1. She would say that in front of a customer, Iâm standing right there, and 2. People are paying a large amount of money for this jewelry, they have the right to ask and make sure the items are what they want. Some of the employees here are nice and very helpful, but I donât recommend taking your rings here to be sized and apparently this female manager doesnât want to...
