Bento House — Restaurant in Virginia

I don't know if this place has recently changed hands or if it was a bad night but my husband and I came up from out of town to eat here and it was absolutely disgusting. He ordered the spicy garlic miso ramen and I had the teriyaki steak with noodles and vegetables. As an appetizer we ordered the Takoyki ( octopus balls). My husband said the ramen was some of the worst he's ever had and the pork belly was inedible it was extremely hard in some spots and just like mushy paste and others and the skin still had all the hair on it. The noodles were undercooked and the broth was bland and flavorless. For the steak teriyaki the steak was mostly just fat and gristle, parts of it were burned with a thick char. When eating any of the dish it smelled like a wet dog. As far as vegetables there was one thin slice of carrot and a some cut up onion that was slimy and just kind of didn't taste right. As far as the octopus balls let's just say there wasn't any octopus in them, and sadly enough they were basically burned on the outside. We're not exactly sure why people give good reviews, but please, please, take my word for it, this place does not...

Definitely not worth it. BF and I were having a working weekend and needed a quick meal (combined lunch/dinner). This was anything but. It took 40 minutes to receive our order and other couples/individuals who came in after us and ordered Teriyaki and rolls received them first! We were offered a small styrofoam cup to get some water after the first 30 minutes. We ordered a Volcano Roll, a Black Dragon Roll, several pieces of Tuna, a BBQ Eel Roll, Seaweed Salad and a deluxe Teriyaki Salmon. The ONLY amazing things were the Volcano Roll (tempura was nice and light) and the Salmon Teriyaki (the side of steamed vegetables was 95% raw). The Tuna tasted bloody, looked scrawny, and developed a sticky sliminess after the container was open for less than 5 minutes. Thankfully we only ate 1/2 piece combined if that.that, The seaweed salad was much too warm, bland, and smelled a bit funky (spit that out quickly). Here's to hoping we...

Review posted August 09, 2017 Alice I ordered online through Grubhub and paid by credit card. The driver from Bento House is the worst I never face before. I order my food since 2.30pm. Fine, lastly it showed up tat the driver arrived at 6.03pm. Is mostly 3 to 4 hrs I been waiting in hotel just bcoz I'm grabbing Japanese food. But ! The driver no show and told the Grubhub complaints hotlines' receptionist name Eva C to told me, he already pass the food to another guy name Alice who is same like me but different places?! And I'm pretty sure that I give the right address bcoz tat is only one hotel name Sheraton in this area. And I had a best experience last month with other Japanese restaurants' good services by asked me for showing the receipt in sms and calling. Is the worst experience I never had. How could u hired tis kind of irresponsible driver Bento House. Shame...
